How important are things like technique, tempo and range of motion for hypertrophy? Some would have you believe that any movement will stimulate the same muscles in the same way, regardless of technique.
I'd make the argument that you can optimize your technique, tempo, load and range of motion to produce the best hypertrophic results. Don't phone in your accessories, use them to help provide enough of a training stimulus to grow.
Great video. Very true about accessory movements. I get bummed when I dont see progress with them every week. I find myself cheating the reps to compensate. Need to just reset every couple weeks.
“You don’t set out to build a wall. You don't say ‘I’m going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that’s ever been built.’ You don’t start there. You say, ‘I’m going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid.’ You do that every single day. And soon you have a wall.”
Train under CONTROL WITH LESS WEIGHT. And to failure with one working set. After a warm up set. And you will grow MORE.
Here we are in 2020. And people are STILL grossly overtraining. And taking 5 plus years to reach a level of size and strength. They should be reaching in 12 to 18 months.
If Hypertrophy is your goal you should be doing this on every exercise including your primary ones. You should always be the one in control of the weight and not let the weight control you. Don’t rush through your sets pumping out reps with sloppy form and weight you are struggling to just about hold. Slow down your tempo on the eccentric portion to be about 2-3 seconds (still explode up on the concentric), concentrate on keeping your form as perfect as possible and always take every movement through it’s full range of motion and only up the weight when you actually are ready to (if your form is sloppy, struggling with the right tempo etc at the current weight you are not ready to progress).
hey omar!!! i think you answered a question i've had the past week lol but just to be sure…. NO SORENESS DOESN'T MEAN THE MUSCLE WILL NOT GROW??? I hit hard and then am dissapointed at the level of soreness i obtain
Omar isuf is blabbering away at his workout partner all this scientific and real experience gained knowledge. Best friend : stares intently on his phone " yeah I know right?" Two weeks later " Hey why are you using a belt to lift pussy???"

What's with them coconut dumbbells though? Are you hiding creatine in there?

yes coach
Calf accessories.
Trust me, it MATTERS how you bench press. You do that wrong and you go from putting the stress on your chest, to putting it on shoulder ligaments.
Two years rehabbing a shoulder tear is not fun.
Going from a 250lb bench, on my way toward 300, to a 70lb bench is demoralizing.
FORM is more important than just not fully activating the target muscles. It’s key to not getting injured.
When did Omar get his ears pierced???

Hate cha’
Nah yo I’m doing em right. I get into my accessory work I love flexing in the mirror.
Easy way to program to mitigate this is having a 3-1-0 tempo on everything or just 0-1-0 so ur sure that ur contracting.
I should say it’s not 0-1-0 more like 1-1-0
I think I'm doing it right. I should start my own channel. I mean, look at my locks of justice!
Bruh movement
Great video man. Been focused on strength for so long that my accessory movements are starting to suffer
Couldn't work out if that was snow or you'd sprayed the scene with creatine 0_0

Great vid, man. I needed to hear this.
Everyone at my gym needs to watch this, since their entire workouts are made of cheating on accessories…

Hey Omar, Can you explain the difference between Assistance Sets, Accessory Sets and Supplementary Sets?! Been trying to wrap my head around it!
Sorry I forgot to say why you're stupid! Because you don't know any training science!
