Yoga For Post Traumatic Stress – PTSD | Yoga With Adriene – Yoga With Adriene

by YouTube Team

This at home yoga practice is created for you to be able to do on your own and designed with many types of people in mind. Ideally, the title will bring many people to the yoga mat and it will provide tools for healing, understanding, connection, and recovery. Yoga With Adriene focuses not just on postures but on Integral Yoga that can benefit all types of people through breathing techniques, meditation, and mindfulness.

Yoga is beneficial for healing from trauma in so many ways and on so many levels. Trauma stays in the body, not just the mind. Our fight or flight response can be disrupted because of traumatic events or experiences. This session invites you to reconnect to your body and tend to the nervous system. Through regular practice, we will rewire our central nervous system to trigger our relaxation response.

Take 45 minutes to practice today. Share with someone whom you think might also benefit and subscribe to the Yoga With Adriene channel.

This week’s free yoga practice is a big request. It is designed with many different types of people in mind and created with the intention to help us remember to keep choosing love.

No matter what.

Let me know how it goes! We have been uploading videos since 2012 and I am still so very inspired by the conversation in the comment section here. It is a true and miraculous weekly inspiration. A testament to the power of a collective.

Thank you for this practice even though I don't have PTSD, I feel all of us have some sort of trauma in our lives especially living in the pandemic. This is an important practice and I hope it serves one and all.

I know this is for PTSD, but it is amazing for insomnia as well. Relaxes and puts me out like a rock. 😴🙏🏻💯

Thank you so so much for this one (and all others) I didn't think I would have the patience to do 44 minutes and I feel amazing. You are a gift to this world! I follow you since 2013 on and off, you are the only person who can get me to do yoga! I am going through quite a challenging year, working deeply on myself. If ever you have any ideas for fears, generational traumas, I'd love that xx

Made me cry… trauma survivor here. First exercise I've done in 2 years that wasn't me just trying to punish my body. Thank you, Adrienne. You don't know me, but you saved my life anyway. I love you.

I just wanted to say that I’ve been watching your videos since 2014, when I was 14 and through those years I went through the most trauma. I lost touch with this connection and came back and found this video after my therapist recommended this type of yoga and I am so glad you’re still around still guiding me and others

I'm struggling bad with ptsd from childhood abuse and today I was crying all morning after a night of nightmares. When journaling today, I just broke into a frenzy of writing "You are Safe. I am Safe. Safe." over and over in my journal so when doing this yoga and hearing you say the words "You are safe" I almost broke down into tears. Thank you for this. My body feels peace and feels safe for the first time in a long time.
