Omarlsuf, just a terrific video on fundamental training concepts. I make the low volume, high intensity mistake frequently. I try to mix it up usually. However, I was reminded by Couch how to achieve my strength and power goals better by volumization and the limitation of workout time. You produce very good videos by my reckoning, because you ask clear questions, allow your guest to speak and sum up the pointers at the video's conclusion. Thanks for your hard work and may you achieve your weightlifting goals.
Question: in the scenario that Couch Hamilton stated, both lifters with a max bench of 200lbs. For lifter B, training and doing more volume, 5sets, 10reps, 150lbs. What does lifter B do for the next training session if he manages to get all 5sets of 10reps? Increase working weight to 160lbs? Or?
I like what this guy says. It actually takes discipline to not go to failure or to not max out. Maybe it's because so many in the gym go for the 1 or 2 rep max on something like the deadlift that you feel like you're not doing enough if you're doing 5 x 5s at 70 or 80% of 1RM.
Yeah, training failure is not good for strength and speed, but amraps are good because they are specific ( counted ). Failure is a bad word in strength or at less need to know when it hapen

Would it be weird if I sat on the couch?
u shoulda included "strength training mistakes" since not going to failure is pretty much bullshit in a hypertrophy workout to build size 😉
Return of the couch!
HES SOFA KING STRONG
Is this Stephin Merritt's swole brother?
ROFL at dat opening.
So i should just stop adding on weight as soon as i cant do 5 reps and then stick at that weight keeping the 5 rep volume?
