Since I developed a corn allergy, I have learned corn is in soooo much. I've lost a lot of weight since I've cut corn completely from my diet. Funny how that works.

Not once did he pronounce "fructose" the same way twice. A lot of "frucktose" variations. Am I not pronouncing it right?

"…But not all sugars are created equally"

True. But that sentence somehow made me sad 🙁

The problem I have is that HFCS is in almost all the bread around here, if I wanted to cut HFCS out, I'd pretty much have to cut all bread out :/ thanks for the information!

You never see it on food labels here in the UK, but instead I think it's disguised under different names, like 'glucose-fructose syrup' or other similar names. Not sure if it's exactly the same as HFCS, but I'm sure it's not far off

I hate the way hfcs makes me feel – on my last cheat treat I went to froyo and felt HORRIBLE for hours after….I was shaking and breathless and my heart was beating fast. I don't think I'm going ever again!

The reason why corn is so plentiful is because of the subsidies. HFCS came about because the USDA wanted to support local sugar producers and punish a certain commie island in the Caribbean. This was done by placing quotas on sugar imports, they figure if we give domestic a leg up then we'd have no choice but to use locally sourced sugar. Of course that was their plan, but the reality of what happened was that they simply substituted sugar for HFCS.

I'm addicted to sugar, it sucks and i don't want to be. I'm trying to kick the habit but there's a constant message in my brain that I want sweets, that's the addiction.

~>~When too much FRUCTOSE enters the body, the liver cannot process it fast enough for the body to be able to use it as sugar. Too much FRUCTOSE leads to Type 2 Diabetes,OBESITY& HEART DISEASE. Since the 70's percentage increases in DIABETES have been DIRECTLY proportional to increases in FRUCTOSE market share. The U.S. provides agribusiness with CORPORATE WELFARE so fructose remains inexpensive. FRIEDMANITE FASCIST REPUBLICANS would call this "PRIVATIZING profits & socializing losses".
