Walking for weight loss. I can walk for 10 hours straight easy. HIIT for cardiovascular fitness.

LISS for me. asthma stops me from jogging for more than 5min. im pretty happy skipping, using stair climber or high incline walking

This subject is so confusing!!! I've heard LISS is the best fat burner, but at the same time, I've heard that LISS causes "fat retention" on those over 50 years old and older and HIIT is what we "elder" gentlemen should do…it burns more fat "long after" the session and it supposedly increases testosterone…HELP!! So, if I understand you correctly, to burn "fat," LISS is the way to go; if I want to burn carbs, then HIIT is the way to go. I watched a video of a conversation between Lee Labrada and "Dr. Dan" on this very subject. The conclusion was, if you are weight lifting, then LISS is what you need to do because weight lifting is a form of HIIT. Would you agree with this?

Steady State is a lot better than HIIT for a person with health issues.

I do both LISS and HIIT in addition to weight training. I plan out my full training at least a month in advance. 😁

Would doing hiit fasted (morning) target fat instead of glycogen?

Melody December 14, 2020 - 10:18 pm

I like both too, for different reasons!
I love running sprints and also love walking – but I know I can burn more calories in less time with running so it depends on my schedule and how I am feeling that day 🙂

It helps that I live in close proximity to the beach and nice national park… best motivation for cardio.

This makes me so happy. I love hiking and walking. Anytime I do HIIT, I feel so sick and nearly throwing up. I thought it had to be HIIT “to count”.

I'm a bigger gal and I stick with LISS. It may take longer but it saves my knees from all the high intensity running and jumping in HIIT

I tend to go a bit crazy with my workouts. I do some running or cycling for 30-40mins. Then I follow it up with a HIIT full body workout. Once I get going I just can't help myself.

HIIT really fucks with me mentally. I've done a lot of it and going to that place mentally to stay in the hurt just isn't healthy for me anymore. But I can also sit on a rower for 4 hours no problem even if it rips my hands up and my ass hurts lol. It's a no brainer for me

Including cardio in your every-day life is recommended. I commute by bike every day to work (no matter the whether). It helps with metabolism too so I never feel like shit even though I eat like a machine. If I work at home for a day or have a day of I go out for an intensive ride. My mood is always up.
