man these are common sense… I wanna know how to stop good morning squatting, getting the right footangle and width, avoid raising hips first, keeping torso more upright and avoiding butt wink…
he looks like James Franco, if James lifted
Hey I've recently built up to a 200lbx5x5 LB squat session but just recently I noticed I have pain in my left rear deltoid. It hurts when I tighten my back as if I were to unrack the weight, and it also hurts when I come out of the hole since there is a lot of acceleration and I notice the bar pushes extra hard on my delt. I'm going to take a week off as a deload week, has anyone else experienced anything like this, and if so, how and when was it relieved? Thanks!
This guy is awesome, excellent recommendation big man!
This was a great video thanks
This really helps, thanks man
I didn't know James Franco was a powerlifter!
When I last squatted (back squat) I started experiencing a throbbing pain in the upper right side in the back of my head. I experienced this last year so I took a long break from squats. I've been going for months now without this pain. Any info would be appreciated.
Do big american colleges have official powerlifting teams/ coaches?
Great tips, great content. More of these please!
I guess I'll have to stop unracking with a staggered stance
Good tips mang,
Yay John! Where are your squat shoes, man?! I know you haven't switched to chucks lol
I had a dream and there was eminem in a power rack with a guitar, and you were on the next power rack and you went to him, and you started rocking with the guitar.
This is awesome! This is the way I squat as well! Pretty cool to see a professional powerlifter explaining this way as well!
His wrist positioning is terrible, wrists should be neutral or just a little bit bent, not like what hes doing in the video though.
What's the consensus opinion on wrist position? Do you go thumbless over the bar or like this where wrist bends backwards under the bar?
Hmm, that unracking part of the video seems like it would help a lot and one I really didn't think bout, thanks!
Is anyone else feed broken? This vid has been up for a day and I'm just now seeing it now. It's been like that with other videos as well.
When I squat my knees click but I have no knee pain
Im 85% sure John is related to James Franco
PLEASE REPLY SOMEONE,
Look i'm a fat 18 year old i've been hitting the gym since a while, at the start i did 30-45 mins of cardio ( or even more) and not too much strength. i lost around 15 kg. I was 110 kg now im 95 kg.
But now cardio is very boring and ive been doing strength for a quite a while. Im fat but very strong so my question is what can i do to use this body fat, is there a good way to put it to work or something. Or shall i just do cardio till i lose it all?
My main objective is to become a bodybuilder im pretty large for my age and even for my weight, not being fat just as body build.
So what should i do?
Am I the only one missing the part where he talks about upper back tightness or did he forget to mention it ?
Thank you so much for this video!! It's exactly what i needed help on !! Xoxo
Strong guy and very knowledgeable!
when u've walked out, finding the right feet position doesn't take up any energy from my experience. ofc its optimal to know and go into the stance asap, but if you don't have that down yet, it's not that big of a deal.
Omar, I love your videos but one of your shirts that have the japanese sun bothers me. Do you actually know what that symbolizes?
that's exactly what i needed help w/ thanks!
that Frieza shirt doe.
The Biggest tip to add to the list is "Breathing" taking in a nice Deep breathe before you Unrack the weight and before you initiate the squat. Forces core even tighter etc…. Omar will pitch in..
I like seeing other youtubers wear Omar's shirts, it makes me happy to see that Omar came a far way from when him and Jonnie Candito had like 60k subs combined.
I needed this – Thanks!!!!!!
650 squat? Pfft couch does 740
Super informative! Just subbed to johns channel.
Honestly I like to "explode" the weight out of the rack as a part of my set up. If I blast the weight off the pins and it feels light on my back then I feel more confident dropping into the hole with it. Maybe this isn't sustainable once the weights get higher or is a "bad habit" but I like doing it. I guess the only concern I see long term is once I hit weights where the bar starts to whip it might fuck up my start but since my perceived max is currently around 340 I'm a long way off from that being an issue.
2 steps….Take the stancewith that you use to squat and unrack.. 20cm step back with both feet. And you are in youre stance
Good stuff John! I see your making it big time now!
my hippie gym has a rack that the lateral bars are fixed and they are too high. if I want to break parallel, I have to step out like 4 or 5 times to avoid hitting the lateral bars. Anyone else with the same problem? (long walkout)
the wrist angle looks painful
great tips
awesome, thanks for the info 🙂
