Toned & Sculpted Isolation Shoulder Exercises for Women | Joanna Soh

When you think of Michelle Obama’s physique, what’s the most prominent feature, it has got to be her toned and sculpted set of shoulders.

A droopy set of shoulders tend to make the person look sluggish and lack in confidence. With strong shoulders, we stand a little taller, carry ourselves with a bit more confidence and this can boost our self esteem. Plus, you will also look good in any clothes you wear.

Here are 5 really effective shoulder isolation exercises that will give you a more rounded and lifted pair of shoulders.

1) Dumbbell Shoulder Press
2) Side Lateral Raise
3) Upright Row to Front Raise
4) Face Pull
5) Bent Over Reverse Fly

Complete 12 – 15 reps each x3 sets

Hello Joanna, this is Pramita Sinha, I am from India, I was 61kgs and after following your tips and some of my gym trainer tips I lost 16kgs and now I am normal I am 45kgs now. My height is 5ft. 3inches and age is 19. My question is
how will I keep my weight stagnant?
What should I eat and how much calories take in should be done in each day to keep my weight fixed so that no fat is induced?
What are the excercises should I do ?

But…the internal rotation of the barbell upright row though. May cause impingement of the shoulders. Either it does not apply to women or it won't affect us all in general if done minimally.

Watch out, Joanna Soh…the more educated and systematic Jeff Cavalier, Athlean X disapproves of the Upright Row and is condemned into the Iron Graveyard because you are impinging the shoulder through internal rotation that is a provokative position…unless his display of biomechanics do not apply to women that is.

Your Face Pulls needs improvement where your hands must lead the way back rather than your elbows and do so in external rotation to engage the external-rotating Rotator Cuff muscles!
Lastly, your Rear Delt Fly's are not enough because you could further activate the rear delt by bending your elbow to 90 degrees then squeezing back with your arms at the same angle away from your body. That way, you can handle much heavier weight and maximally activate the rear delts!
You need to learn a thing or two from Jeff Cavalier, a top notch and one of a kind physical therapist and you have to incorporate external rotator cuff exercises or you will get the ladies to impinge their shoulders!
