They simply make me piss prolifically, suggesting that they are removed rapidly by the body. I have seen many folk for whom they appear to have worked however. Usually people who have hammered them during workouts only (Cap form).

With intermittent fasting being as popular as it is… BCAA's are critical year round if you're a serious IF'r… i personally take them during the workout and about 3 hours prior to breaking my fast…. no strength or size deterioration yet for me anyways…. probably closer to 40bucks a month since im doing a couple a day but IMO, worth it

As an infantryman and operator i used bcaas like candy. Great way to keep strength IMO or at least not losing most of it.

BCAA's are becoming expensive flavored water. You are now seeing EAA's becoming more popular now. There are 2 big misconceptions about BCAA's 1. They CANNOT build muscle. They can aid somewhat in helping prevent muscle breakdown but they cant build new muscle tissue. You need all 9 essential amino acids (EAA's) to build new muscle. 2. They have calories. You see people in a prep or cut that drink BCAA's all through the day and wonder why they aren't losing the fat, its the consuming of all the BCAA's. A diet high in protein and a good whey shake post workout is plenty.

I have to add something. Even If you get it for free, it still might not be the best idea to take it all the time, because everything you take has to be processed and that can be a little hard on the kidneys & maybe the liver. I mean if it's not necessary than it's a waste of putting your body through it. So if you're paying for it, it's a waste of money AND your time/effort/bodily function. That's just my two cents.

Healthy kidney's don't pass proteins into urine. So, if your "pissing out" protein of any kind 1:27 you are in some form of kidney disease. The truth is that most all of the body is made up of proteins, not only muscle but skin, organ tissues, bone cartilage, veins, etc. So the body will use the protein that you give it for various things and should never excrete through the kidney's into the urine. It's not like vitamins which you do piss out excess.

Whey takes longer to assimilate. If your muscles are entering a catabolic state after a workout, you really don't want to wait around to get them back into an anabolic state. I use to only consume whey post and I can tell you the recovery sucks compared with taking a bcaa when you start feeling the intense fatigue breakdown of muscle. BPI bcaa isn't that expensive, but in-kaged imo is superior. Skimp at your own peril

I've been lifting weights for 14 yrs now. I've done protein, creatine and all sorts of pre workouts. I just recently started mixing BCAA with creatine before and after my workouts and I feel the difference. More than with any recent pre workout mixes. This is my new pre workout mix.

Tried them once, noticed that my muscles were not as fatigued during my workout. Was considering trying them especially since I am trying to cut. However, one of my university professors, who is a registered dietician, said they are not necessary and that it just puts extra strain on a persons body and potentially be hard on your kidneys. Regardless, like I said, I did notice a slight difference when taking them, I will have to try them for at least a few weeks to know if there is any benefits for me.

Some people like me don't like dairy products, so I take BCAAs instead. Mixed with creatine and L-citrulline , I've noticed I'm not as sore after working out. Being 53 that means a lot when you still have to get up and go to work.
