Modern bodybuilding has evolved to the extreme of maximising muscle size and minimising fat at the professional level, but is really still niche in modern culture and has likely reached the end of the road (have we seen progress from Ronnie in ~20 years ago?). There is a place for this as a niche extreme and I feel what you are preaching is largely accepted by the mainstream fitness community..

Why are athletes that lift consistently for their sport not included in the culture of lifting? (Genuine question for the community)

It became less about the Art & more about pushing the boundaries of Muscularity.

Why do the judges like this though you’d think the categories would make it so the classic physique is more desirable

Modern bodybuilding today sucks. Its about bulk and mass years ago it was about perfection, symmetry and balance, Everything had to be in balance. Today just bulk and mass with huge guts.

Omar I agree! Modern bodybuilding it's not what most of us practice. We need to promote natural bodybuilding and fitness accurately.

Feels like Omar justifies being small a lot lately. We get it you're natural not everyone on steroids dies at 40. If you're so into educating yourself spend some time. A lot of time researching responsible monitored steroid use.

I put some of the blame on Arnold and some of the others around his time.

I fully agree with this assessment. Body building is kinda weird and has been for years. I repect men like Dorian and Arnold. But years ago I was walking around a local park and I remember seeing what could still be the most massive guy I've ever seen…. and it was just not anywhere near has cool has it looked in the magazines.
But I don't want to see my people and my community fat and unhappy . Most people would gain from the totally realistic goal of just putting on some muscle and losing some fat and gaining some mobility.

So Zyzz reinvented the origin of bodybuilding? Focusing on aesthetic symmetry and great physique. Not wanting to look like a blown up freak.

It’s incredibly sad what PED’s have done to strength sports. Imagine Ilya Ilyin in his teens – an incredibly talented hardworking athlete who is met with a very difficult decision – refuse performance enhancing drugs and allow his talent and name to never be known. Ilya who? Allowing far less talented people to take medals that he knows should be his. Their names spoken across the globe, bringing prestige to their nation. Or to accept that to take his place in the history books as the champion he knows he could be, he’ll need to take them aswell. What a fucked up situation. And it’s just the same for the other strength sports. There are those out there who have the natural talent and determination to become champions but know that if they refuse to do as the rest are doing, that some talentless fuck will overtake them. We should as participants and spectators of these sports start to reject these drug induced champions. Not only for the sports themselves, but also for the athletes that participate who currently have no option other than to do as the others. We could take back these sports – and actually make them sports again, not chemistry competitions where the athletes have to deal with the terrible consequences of drug abuse in their later years.

Not sure why a young man would risk his life for such a juvenile and fleading pursuit,,also it is obvious now that putting a whole bunch of muscle weight on hasn't any fitness value,,and or life extending benefit. In my experience,, the modestly muscled,,lean waisted,,quick on there feet type- have the most longevity in this world,,but I digress..
