I thought you were going to say the haggis was the terrible pre-workout idea. But seriously, I live in New England and have often gone outside in 35 degree temps or colder for some exercise – it does feel mild if the sun is out, but not so great if it is gray and the wind is blowing. I like to wear layers, roll up things, and unzip my jacket when I start to warm up. The people that I see out there wearing shorts in the winter make me wonder about them. Like, haven't they ever heard of wind chill? And aren't they worried about hurting their muscles or tendons? Or don't they know?Anyway, it keeps me occupied for at least a mile.

Amazing that you tried haggis! How did you end up coming across this? I'm from Scotland where its originally from an I think its great. Theres chip shops here that sell it battered and deep fried. . . . not macro friendly!
