My current squat is modeled on Brian Alsruhe (strongman) Before that I used to watch a lot of Alan Thrall and the Chris Duffin @ Supertraining how to squat video.
I think that idea stems from a lot of strongmen don't regularly put regular back squats into their training regiment, because front squats, SSB squats and swing bar squats have much more carry over
but the fact doesnt change that strongmen dont excel at squats as much as other athletes, mostly powerlifters. this is what i believe though. if youre good in a specific exercise, its inevitable that you will hit big numbers. eddie just deadlifted half a ton, its his favorite exercise apparently, so hes good at it, squats are not his thing. here is why. Dennis Cornelius, who is a powerlifter, can squat max 392 kg and he weighs 124 kg, for his size and strength, hes got better form and strength to weight ration against eddie for squats. my point, if you weigh 180 kg and squat like eddie does, its inevitbale you will lift big numbers, but squatting with good form is another thing. pete rubish weighs 111kg and he can deadlift max 420 kg, LOTS OF STRONGMEN CANT MATCH that, soyes their form is bad, that doesnt mean they cant lift heavy shit, its theit job to lift heavy. answering yoru question, yes storngmen in some exercises have bad form, that doesnt means they cant lift heavy. im a huge strongman fan and last guy i saw squatting with good form was big z, anything after that is pure heavy body lifting heavy stuff. to me though, if strongmen weighed around 120 to 130 kg, their form would be much better because heavy weight can only be lifted with perfect form, otherwise its unnecessary. THIS IS MY OPINION
Just watched Eddie hall squats 345kgx7 with a long ass bar that jumps up and down while sitting and Eddie's ack, and after that i clicked on the video.. I don't think that i need any evidence from you lol

Strongman competitors can squat.
Weightlifters can deadlift.

Somebody claiming that strongmen cant squat is… a bloody idiot?
Paul Anderson was a strongman. Just saying.
Omar Do you know what those things around his knees? or above his Calves are?
Why make this video?? Its like defending yourself from 6th graders.
Eddie hall, zavickas, brian shaw can squat 700+ for warm up reps
omar fix annie's thorsdottir squat. it sucks ass and she wont listen
Hapthor Bjornsun just squatted 940lbs it's on his insta😂
While I don't agree with the statement, using Eddie Hall as an argument against it holds little water – the guy is just a genetic outlier!
A good strongman will always have to be strong at just about anything because of the large variety of events they have to participate in.
Possibly the only exception would be pull ups.
More love for Brian Alsruhe y'all.
