All I wanted was someone to be honest with me. If only we met in real life I’d love to have you train me. You get our struggle and you’re not afraid to address it. I added you on IG and I’ll reach out there. Thanks I’m very appreciative for your videos.

I haven’t found a way to break through the wall of ‘oww it hurts’ and how to just keep pushing through. And I usually just stop. But yeah I agree with this video

I was 104 around march 2020 I started working out in July 2020(I don't have weight machine so don't know how much weight I was in June would assume not much lighter as I was just lying down and on the computer and stuff playing games leading a sedentary life) I recently got my weight checked I'm at 87 now and down 4 waist sizes from 36-38 to a 32
I've become considerably stronger than before before I used to give up with a 2 minute workout now my usual workouts last 30 minutes
As for diet I'm Indian so I've been on home food which includes chapatis and vegetables with rice and pulses 2 times a day with 2 glasses of milk in morning with having a quick snack in the evening
I recently got my uncles old dumbbells as hand-me-downs they're great I'm currently using 7.5lbs on each side hoping I can move over to 10lbs in a few weeks when I'm stronger-ish
It's been great, in the beginning the pain was too much but now the after pain from exercise feels so good that I prefer having that pain over not having it. It's as big as a problem that if I haven't worked out on a break day (cause rest days are necessary or something) I would have full blown insomnia and just lie there through the night until it's 8 am before I finally fall asleep
That's been my journey so far hopefully it was interesting to anyone who reads this

Basal metabolic rate: 2500
Daily calorie intake: 2000
Daily calorie burnt during cardio: 500
Does that put me in a 1000 daily calorie deficit? If yes, then it doesn't necessarily mean "burn more than you eat", yes?

One day, if you feel it would be of benefit, can you discuss how you see fitness influencers who take steriods but give fitness advice to those who choose not to. I ask this genuinely as I deal with impressionable young men and women who have no idea what they are capable of as a natural due to those influencers.

I really have to thank you for this video. I've been stuck on trying to lose weight for more than six months or so. I saw this a month and a half ago, started counting calories right away without stressing too much about it, just planning a bit in advance what to eat and what I'd rather be able to indulge into so I'd hit the target number at the end of the day, and it's frigging working for now, I didn't lost too much (well, 1.5 kg, which is just fine for a mild loss weight calorie plan) but I am steadily losing weight at last.
Two key things that seemed to have worked for me was searching for meals that I really enjoyed and that were low enough on carbs, and buying food so I'd be able to eat those often during the week, and to focus on making this a thing I could keep up for as long as I wanted without feeling unsatisfied with how I'm eating or stressed out for it, so I don't even feel as if I'm dieting.
I also noticed I don't really feel the "need" to over eat to enjoy a meal anymore, or that I longer feel like choosing the highest caloric food in a menù or when I have options.

Excellent stuff Lex. Really enjoyed your videos since I found them. I've been dieting/exercising living properly for just over a year now and have lost 9 stone so far. Glad to see that so much of this video rings true with what I've been trying to do. Cheers mate and Black Country barbell is just down the road from me so one day I might get the courage up to go there

I went from 285 lbs (129 kilos) to 205 lbs (93 kilos) in under a year – approximately 7 months – of nothing but straight working out regularly (no program just going and doing what I felt like doing) and 22 hour fasting for the first 4 months straight. Around February/March of this year, I fell off the wagon because mentally, I was just exhausted after being stuck at 205 for a month straight. Was their recomp? Sure. Was I lean? Way leaner than I have been in years – but that scale broke me mentally and I crumbled. Add in getting back into the dating scene and being happy again having someone in my life to share meals with and becoming sedentary at work with the gym falling off? Im back to 230. Its my fault, clearly, but I own that and am back to working towards the end results of at least 195 lbs (88 kilos). Im just here for the advice, I know its my own fault lol
