when I used to be physically fit and someone asked me stuff I would always say start out slow and low do not lift what you cannot lift. also do not do what others do jerking free weights or on machines go slow cause if you go fast you could hurt yourself and pull a muscle.
My Pilates instructor called me The Queen of Modifying. She’d use me as an example for others with physical limitations. I can figure out a way to modify just about anything you throw at me!
High impact exercises have a much higher cap than low impact imo. Aka there are more options to exceed high impact but not as much to go below a certain threshhold in low impact once the threshold is achieved. With high impact, you can continuously add weight, but with no impact, there's much more limitations
I think this solely depends on if you know HOW or what exercises and movements to switch to when doing either or. For me, it’s easier to find low impact than high impact.
Since I generally go for low-impact cardio videos I'm better at modifying down. Squat/lunge moves are the exceptions because Kelli often shows how to make those more challenging.
From the mental challenge perspective, it's definitely easier to figure out how to take a low impact movement and modify the challenge level up. It's usually just adding some hops here and there. If the move is demonstrated as high impact, I don't think it's as easy on the fly to determine a low impact version.
Since I wasn’t allowed high impact workouts until I was an adult (hip issues) I am used to adapting from high to low impact and find that easier. If I can do the high impact exercise its already there, which works best for me.

Just from my experience, when you are trying to ramp things up I feel like there are more options than if you are trying to ramp things down.
Take a high impact into a low impact

High to low
For some reason for me it is easier to take a high impact exercise and making it low impact.
I can’t choose. I think they’re equal

Definitely high to low.

I would say high to low impact.
It seems like more effort would be required to go low to high.

I think it's easier to go from high to low impact!
Can i chose B …???
From low to high. Which has also the added bonus of making me feel great because I can do more and not like a loser who cannot follow the exercise.
I find it easier going from high to low impact

High to low
I believe it depends on the person. Personally find it easier to go from low to high! Great question!
