Omar you keep lifting your head off the bench in your vids. Couch told you not to do it in an earlier video but you still have not fixed it after all this time… not even addressing it in a video where you try to improve technique to lift more. Come on …

You said you switched to a more narrow grip because of your shoulder. Arn't you worried that you're just going to end up back where you started with the shoulder pain now that you're going back to the wider grip?

Hey Omar could you possibly do
a video or response to know the difference between hips rising to early or using hip thrust/drive in a squat. Would really appreciate it 🙂

You're doing it the proper way Omar!
I'm glad to see that you're well informed on this topic, and not ignorant like many others.

Anyone have mild pec major tear advice? Tear is only about 1/2" by 1/4" surface area near my breast bone on the right side. Small enough it only hurts when attempting to use or actively support my right arm.

Tore it coughing. Made the mistake of not giving my chest enough recovery. Hitting it 4x a day with 4-6 sets (not including 3 warmup sets each time) of I'd say about 75% intensity – very high volume for me. Thanks in adv. if anyone has anything. I figure 2 weeks off should be ok to hit light weights again.

Omar, I also notice a flaring of my elbows when it gets a little heavier. I feel like I'm bleeding a lot of power. I'm 6'4 and my pinky is on the rings. I fear that if I go any further I would have trouble keeping my scapula retracted. I tried the mental cue where you pretend like you're separating/bending the bar, but it really didn't help. Any tips?

Have you ever made a video on identifying problems? I might be fucked but I don't know how to diagnose my bench problem. I've been stuck at 225 for about a year now and if anything I've gained maybe a few reps but never got over 5. I tried what you did, changing the grip, and also changing the point where I bring it down (normally around my nipples; I tried both higher and lower). Help me Omar… before I switch to the smith machine like a pussay.

Hey Omar, do you ever do any bar path analysis of your lifts, or do you think it's not necessary?

Interesting I have the opposite problem. I had problems with the lockout with a closer grip, now I can lockout much easier with a wide grip but lowering and pauzing is a lot more difficult now…

Yeah bro I automatically saw your old technique where it was not going down in s straight line. Good call on that technique. upgrade. I maxed out at 340 for 2 reps a few months ago trying this leg drive. Keep it up man you're the best!

@omarisuf do you think one should focus on one compound to be strong at such as bench, DL, squat, etc or should we try to be as strong as possible on all of them? I noticed some power lifters seem to focus on bench, others squats, others DL. I dont think I ever saw one who is beast at every single one. What do you think?

Bench question for a complete beginner. I've seen a lot of people say to touch your chest. Then other people say that your elbows shouldn't go past 90 degrees. What's what on this? I'm nearly 6'4" and for me to touch chest my elbows would be way down below the bench. On a rough measurement my chest cavity is only 8.5 inches in depth. That being said, while simulating a perfect 90 degree hold on the floor flat on my back, my grip hold is at 15 inches. So I'm between 6-7 inches off my chest if I'm to stay at 90 degrees. Anyone have some thoughts on this??

im chest heavy as you are, but gripping wider and pressing higher up on my chest puts a lot of strain on my shoulder. are you not the same?

Hey Omar, could you make a video on bench press grip?
Like standard grip vs suicide grip.
My older brother insists suicide grip gives him more power. It scares the shit out of me though because he's a goof and it looks dangerous.
Thanks! (Oh and I've seen a physiotherapist do a reverse grip on the bench press. I thought it looked silly).

If nothing else, that bench is sick.  I like how you can position the weight right over you (like having a spotter) before you lift off.

Omar, I have the same issue with elbow flaring out on the ascent. I also have a narrow grip due to my surgically repaired rotator cuff… I've tried to widen my grip and that's too much pressure on the repaired area. Any advice? I'm thinking about using the slingshot to teach myself to keep the elbows tucked…
