When life gives you a rolled ankle, you go for an Overhead Press PR.

My 5RM is 60kg, 70kg for 4. but my other lifts are super poor in comparison with my OHP. hmm trying singles before attempting PRs then like what im seeing now Omar..

i think you use alot of momentum when you back walk and then press. I my eyes you have to back walk in control way, then compact and flex (always the bar touch in high chest and then press). Anyway i really like your channel.

Hi Omar, I'm wondering what your warm up weights are to this… I see the 182 lbs set in the video, but I'm wondering whether getting fatigued before the attempt can be a problem. Thanks!

Why do you always use the giant ass bumper plates when doing things like OHP and squats

I did 107.5Kg Clean and press with my feet together in 1986.

I'm not tryna sound like a dick, but 225lbs for a grown man doesn't seem like the best OHP considering I'm 17 and can do that pretty easily and i don't understand why a lot of people in the comments are freaking out about it.

could you give some advice on how specific one should be collecting data about one's training volume? I have difficulties on deciding how I should combine volume from the compound lifts and volume from isolation movements, since many of the muscles trained in isolation are also involved in the compound movements.

Read Starting Strength, helps a lot with the OH Press. You need to get you head forward as soon as you get the bar above the top of your head

Reply
Deangelo Brooks March 16, 2017 - 7:44 am

Damn I need to increase my ohp… I don't use any equipment no belt no elbow sleeves I can only do 205 strict which is my bodyweight today I did the 90lbs dumbbells standing strict press for 3 after 80lbs for 6 but I'm constantly fatigued from lifting heavy 24/7 cuz no program just lifting heavy
