The Gift will win… 10xMr.O he'll win cause he know it's about the time he put in. He likes the fans but he don't depend on us we're not there in the gym with him up on stage with him. He know it's all about what he does going too be the 1st 1ox Mr.O

WHAT???? Nick, you didn't take into consideration one scenario, which makes it impossible for Phil Heath to win: the public votes Phil Heath to be the last, purely because they know it's their only chance to get their favourite to win it. If they put Ramy on the first and Phil the last, is good bye Sandow for Heath. This will be the first and the last year the public get a say. 100%!!

If there's a tie, they should have to fight.

Why would they leave out what the defending Mr O. Had to say. Positive or negative, people want to hear what he has to say.
I don't think they set him up.

Phil makes power moves. This is another example. Maintaining his dominance with silence.

I can already see where this is heading! Phil is gonna get the record because the judge’s decision is what makes the real Mr O.

As a consolation price to keep people happy they will give Ramy or whoever really deserved to win, the title of “ the people’s champ’ ( and maybe a stupid trophy ).

Another step toward turning bodybuilding into a reality/freak show. What other sport on this planet is judged by fans?!

Not for me. It will just be a uncontrolled bonanza. Instead they should have a qualified unbiased professional judging panel. Just my opinion.

Hi, Nick. Writer here, who has been working in journalism for, well, a long time. It is an industry standard to include "no comment" in the way it was in this article. If Phil had no comment, not including this implies that the writer didn't contact him, which would lead the reader to wonder why he was not allowed to say something, if he wanted. Additionally, placing the "no comment" at the end, is actually a way to make it less sensational, since it is an added detail and not the whole story. Traditional journalism follows an inverted pyramid format, so the least important information is last, since the editor can cut up from the ending and still leave the story relatively in tact.

Compare this to articles where the person was emailed and did not reply for comment. While this is included, since the writer did create an opportunity for comment, it is typically at the end, so a reader will understand that it is not a biased or one-sided piece.

Thanks for all of the content. Keep up the great work.

I 100% disagree with it. Fan votes should have ZERO effect on the judging. The Mr. Olympia should not have a popularity contest aspect to it.

Now, if they wanted to introduce a "fan choice" award or recognition, then thats fine.

I think it’s stupid cause Phil is the winner just cause people don’t like that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve it. People who don’t even understand judging or physiques will just vote against Phil cause he is a dick. I think the fan vote is completely retarded

Phil Heath is a pretty unlikeable guy, to me at least. Ronnie Coleman was great with his "funny dumb guy" persona, Jay was kind of boring but actually seemed like nice guy, Dorian Yates is right now a great guy to listen to and seem very smart and at peace with life, no idea how he was during his bodybuilding day though. Apart from those guys I don't have a feel for any other champs public personality. Phil Heath just seems to have to thin skin, social media is not his strong suit and stuff that people in his position should be able to laugh off seems to get to him more than it should. That plus him being the current champ and favourite to win this year makes it pretty easy to paint him out as the villain… Which I'm all for. Routing for an underdog is always more fun, and doing it when the current champ is an arrogant prick just adds to that 😛

They will justify phill heaths win next year. I personally think that rammy is a fraud n he is just drugs n no strength or technique. Kai greene holds a better place to win it from phill.

There should be not fan voting. Favouritism will destroy many great bodybuilders.
