Got diagnosed 4 days ago. I have been eating 1000 calories a day, No alcohol, sugar free for 6 mths and still gaining. Taking thyroxine 50mcg to begin with and doing bloods in 4 weeks. I am so grateful I found this. Going to start TODAY.

Thank you for this! Just got diagnosed at the end of my pregnancy. I’m pretty sure I’ve had it for many years though since the symptoms are literally my daily life and I didn’t realize it was different. From irregular periods to anemia and fatigue. I have all of them.

It’s frustrating because it poses a risk to my baby and I’m sad the obgyn didn’t test for it at the beginning of my pregnancy like they were supposed to and I got tested by my new PCP in a routine blood tests.

All that to say, thank you so much for shedding light on this silver lining, that I can be healthy and happy while dealing with this and about informing me on what i should avoid as it’s so confusing to find out, I see so many conflicting things online.

I started out with a diagnosis of thyroid hormone resistance when I was 16 because I had an ungodly high amount of t4, approximately 4 times the normal range, yet I looked perfectly fine. Then around 21 my t4 went down and my tsh went shooting up, which meant hypothyroidism which I was later diagnosed, and today at almost 26 my doctor told me my thyroid levels are totally normal which baffled me. It is possible to heal and fix your thyroid, as I did it myself. It feels like a milestone achievement.

From what you have said… 100 mug for your weight suggests your thyroid is not functioning at all. Nutrition will not help in such cases to do anything to improve your gland only your diet.

I have Hashimoto thyroid condition. Eating too much iodine (which I did) by eating tonnes of fish, seafood, sea kelp, seaweed, sea moss caused a MASSIVE inflammation of my thyroid glands, which in turn caused a huge inflammation of my whole body. Please guys be very careful with too much iodine foods, my doctor forbade me to even use sea salt. I use Himalayan pink now. Also take vitamin D. If you have insulin resistance as well, like me, I take medication for it and since I am eating 3 times a day (gluten free) no snacking, I lost lots of weight. Eating once a day for me completely ruined my metabolism and my insulin production. Whatever you do, consult your specialist doctor first.

Eating for hypothyroidism means no enjoyment of food and the loss of flavor. I can’t stand it anymore!

So glad I found this video. I was just diagnosed at the beginning of the year. Doctor is still working to get the meds right for me. The fatigue and weight gain really were my main issues. I put on about 25 lbs this past year. I have been intermittent fasting for a few weeks now and it has really worked. I think I have finally moved past the sugar cravings – I love my sweets! I also started the apple cider vinegar about a week ago. Your video is very helpful in giving me all the food suggestions!
How do you feel about the apple Cider vinegar pill instead of the actual vinegar?
