My # 1 tip when you aren’t motivated to workout! – BodyFit By Amy

by YouTube Team

I call it the 5 Minute Rule…

Listen, I get it. It can be extremely hard to find the motivation to workout. Some days we really just aren’t feeling it. Sometimes we are tired, or stressed, or just having a tough day, and, while we know we will feel better once we get moving, it feels overwhelming to get started. The idea of taking on a full workout feels impossible.

I can give you lots of reasons you *should* get moving, but I know that doesn’t always work, so here’s my Number One Tip: Just get five minutes.

I call it the 5 Minute Rule: Tell yourself you just have to get some movement, ANY movement, for just five minutes. But don’t just tell yourself that, actually give yourself permission to only get five minutes (this is key!)

Those five minutes can be your warmup, a few of your favorite exercises, a dance party in the kitchen, jumping on your bed, a walk around the block—anything! Usually those five minutes are enough to get your energy up, boost those feel good endorphins, and leave you wanting to do more.
BUT, if you complete five minutes and still aren’t feeling it, give yourself permission to take a break!  As I always remind you, rest and recovery are part of the process!

Have you tried the 5 Minute Rule? How does it go for you?

Just go to the gym or weight room or wherever you workout. Tell yourself that you’ll just go but aren’t committed to working out. Chances are thats the hardest part, I’ve never once gotten into my weight room and was like “f*ck it” and just left. You’ll end up looking around at that environment and it’ll make you want to start doing something

I find your 10 min workouts very helpful when I am feeling stir-crazy and can't go outside and walk, or when I just need a break from work.

5 minutes is better than nothing but the key i feel is keeping your eating healthy and those recovery days or lazy days dont bite you in the butt

Thank you so much for having short workout videos! I did one a couple weeks ago for the first time, a 10 min kettlebell video. I hadn't touched my kettlebell in years and thought to myself I would only do 5 min. But then there were only 5 min left, so I did it all and felt really good afterwards! 😊

That's how I started my fitness journey with you Amy. I found one of your very old 10 minutes workout and I did it every day for a whole month. After that I started increasing on my own 5 minutes until I was able to do your 25 minutes workouts and then I found your calendars and Game changer! I can't stop working out. My focus is in filling up that calendar and be healthy for my daughter because she deserves to have a healthy mom that can move in the future. Thanks for your encouragement words on each video. That helps us all to keep going ❤

I’m always motivated to workout. In fact, I can’t wait to workout. And your workouts are the perfect fit for me, where I am right now. I know this tip is for the ones that aren’t so motivated though, and I hope you inspire those who need that little push. Thx Amy💪
