He's not all that tall himself. If you watch the videos he's done with Hulse, he's not much taller(Hulse is 5'8-9" IIRC). It's not a matter of height, but the ratio compared to body weight.
Tall guys can hide extra weight easier, but that gives them no advantage on static lifts.
At 5'6"/146lbs, a 400lb deadlift aint bad at all. You do, however, have room to put much more muscle and strength on your frame.
As as sophomore, I was your height, and had 20lbs on you with a 6pack…cont…
cont…You can pack a lot of meat on a short frame and produce amazing results. My wrestling coach(some 22 years ago) was 5'3" and could bench 2.5x his body weight(150×2.5=375lbs). Full range of motion, not some short powerlifting bench.
Heavy compound lifts, and eating enough, will do you far more good than worrying about outliftifting the next guy. But your lifts will go up.

If people were to back off every time they don't feel energetic, no one would lift heavy. People that have full time jobs/school are most likely going to be tired when they go to the gym, and that probably makes up at least 90% of people that lift.

Wish I would have seen this video before my coach made me stop training for a week. Ive been down because I stopped hitting new PRs and my hip flexors were in constant pain. 2:56, lmao literally exactly my lifts haha, got a 2 plate bench and a 4 plate deadlift (3 plate squat, yes its shit but im still a beginner) , so I shouldn't take a deload? i've never done a deload in my life, tbf im only 17, been lifting for just about a year now, so you reckon a deload isn't necessary?
