Using ATP made from Mitochondrial production(aerobic respiration) doesn't kick in until after about an hour into your workout(or whenever you become glycogen depleted). Also if you're only doing low intensity work. Otherwise, you're using your ATP-Cp and glycolysis energy systems because those give you the most ATP/second which is needed for anaerobic exercises(anything that makes you feel that burn in the muscle). Just to give y'all some background on what they're talking about. And yes, I'm an exercise science major, so I didn't just pull this out my ass.
