Welcome back to part 2 to find out the results for the MARATHON CALORIE BURN CHALLENGE! Are weights faster at burning the 2379kcal I burnt in the marathon?!

This was definitely the most challenging but fun cardio vs weights challenge I’ve done so far so I hope you enjoy it!!

THE WORKOUT:

This was more of a list of exercises I had in mind before the training session and I chose them based on how I was feeling during the workout 😀Anything heavy and compound went first though because I knew by the end I probably wouldn’t make it 😂 There are always easier versions of these so if you are trying some of these moves out, do them without a weight first to get an idea of the move and to make sure your body understands the motion and if you’re not sure how to do it, ask a gym instructor at your gym (:

– Superset x 5 : Barbell row x 8, Front squat x 8, Alternative Jumping lunges x 16
– Superset x 5 : Leg press x 10, Dumbell chest press x 12
– Walking lunges with pulsing jump for every rep x 16 (8 each side), 6 sets
– Sled pushes 6 x 20m
– Sled pulls 6 x 20m
– Sled drags 6 x 20m
– Sled sprints 10 x 20m
– Sled bear crawls 10 x 20m
– Pistol walks 6 x 20 (10 on each leg)
– Duck walks 6 x 20m
– Burpee forward bounds 10 x 20m
– Weighted side squat bounds 10 x 20m
– Weighted forward squat bounds 10 x 20m
– Superset x 10: Overhead barbell kneeling jump squat x 10, Jumping alternate lunges with battle ropes x 16
– Superset x 10: Lat pulldowns x 12, Neutral narrow grip rows x 12
– Deep pulsing squats x 12, 10 sets
– Box jumps 10 x 10sets
– Single leg weighted step-ups 5 sets of 10 on each leg
– Superset x 10: Tire flips x 20m, Hamstring curl x 12
– Tire flips with push-up 5 x 20m
– Narrow stance dumbbell walking lunges 10 x 12reps

I'm trying to loose fat and build muscle I'm really fat especially on my arms and lower belly should I be intermit fasting and btw I have no way to go gym cause of COVID what can anyone recommend for me?

When did you eat before your workout? I’m struggling with that cause if I ate too early I will have no energy. But if I ate late, too close before the the workout I feel sick too 😢. Idk how to deal with it

Hello mam…just wanted to say that the way hou were lifting is not typically how people lift. You were basically doing cardio holding weights. Not lifting weights. In what most people consider a weight session they would not burn nearly that many calories. I would love to see a comparison in which you did a more traditional weight lifting session and compare the calories. Not to be negative I just needed to point that out for others who are watching the video.

so usually I really like your scientific approach but this experiment was kind of total bs?? you ran the marathon for the distance, not for burning calories. You could have run faster for 2h and burned the same amount of cals.
now the “weights” part here also is absolutely not a weight training session. jumping lunged weighted or not are a cardio workout!! their purpose is to raise your heartrate so you are in a cardiovascular training state – not muscle growth!!! that is a very important distinction here.. you basically did two cardio sessions just with different types of cardio and with different goals! one to achieve a certain distance and one to burn max calories…
sorry but this comparison was kind of useless
