Thank you for talking abou this. Its a topic that needs to be discussed regularly. As a poly person, I've found that I've done more inner work with this love choice than I ever did as a monogamous person. I like the communication and opportunity it offers for self and other. Afterall, relationships aren't meant to 'make us happy'…they are meant to make us conscious. When we become conscious through our own inner work, we become joyful and more available for healthy relationship. Best Wishes.

Any relationship needs trust and boundaries. If someone goes beyond those boundaries and breaks the rules then it’s time to move on. Cheating, lying, abusing are all things that violate trust. Relationship is off.
Monogamy isn’t natural. A man is meant to keep his options open. Monogamy and commitment go against that natural order.

To me, it depends on each person being honest about who they naturally are! If you don’t believe in being faithful, don’t be what with someone that do! Know what you want and stay true to that.
I agree with Mike's take. Certain people wish for monogamy to be "natural", and to a certain extent it is. We as a species value bonding, although we have never practiced true pair bonding like other animals where we mate for life. Our young also require a lot of time and energy to raise, so having a dedicated group (whether that be a pair or a village) to aid in child rearing has allowed us to manage quite well. That said, I think monogamy as it is framed today as a pair in love for eternity is not natural. I don't believe we are geared toward being attracted to and only desire the company of only one person forever. I boggles my mind that we practice variety in all other areas of life, but yet sex is somehow supposed to be different. Also, you can't ignore that many so called monogamous relationships are not truly monogamous and people are scared to acknowledge that. Like Mike said, some people like the idea of honesty, but sometimes people don't want to really know everything.
For those who truly desire monogamy, I think it is perfectly natural. But for those who don't, it is not.

But this is my thing. I understand what your saying. However, the biggest issue people have with same sex relationships aren’t the relationships themselves. It’s more about the agenda that those people might have to convert other to be that way.
And what is is to me is that if my sons and daughters are going to be raised that way. Then that’s when it involves me. It sounds good on paper to just let people do what they want.
However I really wonder would you have this same idea and same principle when it’s your children that want to marry in the same sex due to it being more acceptable.
