Sup, have you heard of this program called the Fat Blast Furnace? (Google it). My mother says it helps people get thinner.

If you really wanna get stronger and buffer. (beginners at most) then the only two best routines are SS and SL, the mental part is still depended on the person but the weight increase every workout will at least teach his body to adapt thus maybe effecting the mind

Haha…i am at 40 pound dumbell lol…i had to quit lifting for 6 months in between, plus i am ectomorph, 1 am only 18 , and had been lifting for 4 months in my whole life.so you cant expect much…

Reply
Mutsu Kazuma July 30, 2012 - 11:32 am

the whole ectomorp stuff is not really relevant, my brother is one and he will never get a physique like scott but he still deadlifts 300lbs, he prolly won't get much higher than that with his natural body type, and I would recommend you to do mark rippetoes 5×5 training program, you can increase the weight you are using by 30kg in a month you do more barbell than dumbell exercises which is a bit safer for beginners, and you don't do a hundred different exercises and still gain a lot of strength

You must not have been very intense over those 4 years. Getting up to 36kgs should take no more than a year, probably 6-8 months actually.

You're absolutely right, Scott. There is science backing what you say, as well. Heavier weights will make more neurons fire within the muscles, causing you to activate more muscle fibers (thus lifting heavier weight). Developing your neuromuscular system efficiently requires you to push yourself hard and use heavier weights (relative to your strength level). On top of this, the more muscle fibers you activate (and tear), the more you'll grow.

Crazy clip. Superb vid.

My uncle had been a fatty. He changed himself from 293lbs of fat into 216lbs of absolute lean muscle mass. I couldn't believe it! I just signed up personally coz I would like to make improvements to my body. He made use of the Muscle Building Bible (Search on Google).

36KG on the bar took you 4 and a half years? Man are you sure you were eating enough because that's quite a long time. I don't lift with supplements and I can do 1 rep of 40KG and it's only took me a little over 7 months. I'm not bragging though because half the people reading this could probably do a lot more. But still, 4 and a half years?

It's not "do until failure" but getting your mind to know that your body still has enough strength to push out another rep or two. So that you would be able to do that thing that was talked about were your spotter can "help" get that last rep that you wouldn't be able to get with out him even though he is only using one finger, but with out actually having a spotter to do that. if that makes since.

I got a spotter, but I was just watching what he says in this vid…

He said with dumbells….not a barbell. That means 36 kg in each hand. That`s tough to do.

There is a book describing the scientific facts and the technique; how to work out in order to build strength by the mind and nervasystem.
I've been reading it, but i can't transcribe it here. All i can say is that you should never go to muscle failure if you whant to build up your nervasystem/strenght.
Pushing the muscle to failure has the opposite effect…
The book is: "Power to the people" written by Pavel Tsatsouline, a former Spetsnaz. Read it!

Hey Scott.. Nice natty physique

How often should a person do forced reps? I heard you could over work the muscle if they are done too much; is this true?
