I do these cross ways by doing left hand to right foot. they are hard to do when you get high reps out.
You should try working out your back every time you re working out abdominals, too. A good exercise for your back are "supermans", search them! You can also train it by swimming. Don't forget to stretch

With this workout I can touch my toes but when having my legs up and straight and touching my toes with not arms are harder than this for me
