Im fairly sure I have good squat form besides the bar not fitting on my back without it hurting like a bitch, but when I squat my back literally folds forward like a lawn chair. I can't help it and it looks like a nice consistent movement from start to finish. Anyone know why im like this when 100% of other people can sit upright while squatting? Tips are appreciate!
Thanks a lot! This helped me big time! Finally a good bro tip!
Quads are my biggest body part….
Just a thought, what happened to Jeremy?
OK so i am trying to undestand your point. From my lifting carrer i always have a bad squat technicque because i used to squat with a lot of posterior chain and minimizing the moment arm between the knee and the barbell (more lie a equipped lifter) and i never use high bar heavy and fronts squats since i am in powerlifting since 9 months and i dindt use it. So i am very confused now. How can i know that my problem is hamstrings and not quads? Also i cant front squat 70% of 1 rm low bar squat so i dont know what to think.Your help will be really useful.
could it also be lack of flexibility ?
I miss Jeremy videos 🙁
I don't know man…maybe it's your hair that gives you your super power strength 🙂 great video btw it helped me
Hi
Noob here. For me, 3:45 is the actual set up. Bracing and elbow position is ok
But the most crusual for me is the sit back or sit down, if you will.
I try to think or feel that i position my but as all the way back as long as my ab tension "allow me to". Does that make sense?
hahahaha Omar wanted him to mention the cue for driving the back against the bar, but he kept saying "weak quads" which is totally true
The idea of squatting down then back was really helpful. Thanks
The suggestion behind "quads" being weak, surprised me! My hams look non existent, and my quads oversized in comparison, and i really do suffer from goodmorning squats, even on like 4 sets of 12reps. Got my first scary sign of back injury last week, so just being watching lots of videos on squat forward lean. xD
Would you recommend above parallel pause squats for people falling forward at the sticking point?
Butt wink
Or what about long femurs/short torso? This is more likely for the taller lifters. Actually for most people Quads are already dominant, thanks to sitting most of the day. These tips might actually make the problem worse.
You know what helped me a lot with this problem? Anderson squats with the pins set just an inch or two above the bottom of my squat. They are hard as hell (so you must eat some humble pie), but they fix the problem because (a) you can really concentrate on starting the lift with your hips down, and (b) starting from a dead stop at the bottom requires a lot of quad strength.
THANKS OMAR!!! And Thanks for the tips powerlifter guy. But, damn you were awkward.😩
Through experience I agree that quad strength is not good enough that it elicits that incorrect position where it looks like a good morning.
The thing is why do the hips shoot back first though?
If the hips shoot high first, doesn't that mean that you're first utilizing your quads in the first part of the ascent and not your back?
Wonder why that happens though, since if your quads are weak, shouldn't the chest start rising first and not the hips since you have weaker legs than back?
Finally a video that adresses exactly my problem, thanks so much for this, i also made the mistake of believing i had a weaker lower back and thats why i had this problem.. great video guys! Thanks
What's the song at the end.
@omar isuf serios question, if hips shooting up is the results of week quads then why do you think clarence squats like this with arguably the strongest quads in the world?
Could falling forward be because of weak core? If your core is weak, that's what makes you folded in half by the bar on top of you.
Learn to rest in the Asian squat position…. without weight. It’s helping me. Get off the habit of sitting so much on traditional chairs
Sorry but could it also be low ankle mobility?
How to fix this? My body moves forward it leans too much perhaps due to weak quads
I do a goodmorning squat but my quads are much stronger than anything else?
