In this video we talk about how to squat properly to depth with your knees tracking properly over your feet. This is something I've had to work on.

Weightlifting shoes can help with ankle dorsiflexion demands. I'm now co-owner of Position USA weightlifting shoes. Use discount code POSITION for $20 your pair of shoes.

I get pain in my right glute/lower back from squats, can't exactly pinpoint where the pain is. Maybe I'm not keeping my knees in line with my feet and that is my problem. Going to focus on this and see how it goes 🤞

Great video, excellent timing!!! Just spotted a ln old friend and told him he has an issue with his ankles coz he feels very unstable at the bottom with heavy loads and his hips rise first… The perfect video to share !!! Thanks Omar

This videos help a lot. It's very frustrating to not be able to squat below parallel because of mobility. Been working on it for a while now.

This is good but theres something just as useful but less faffing, and probably the same carry over. when you go back to doing the squat with the barbell, you still got to rememeber to push ur knees out. Try just doing the body weight sqaut hands together and push ur knees out with your elbows, to 'get the feeling' then when u do a warm up with the empty barbell, push ur knees out with ur MIND instead. Maybe film yourself. Its really a cue issue rather than trying to work on 'mobility'

Will this band drill actually lead to ankle dorsiflexion increases in the long run or is it just a temporary increase so you can squat a bit deeper right after you do it? I ask because I have horrible ankle dorsiflexion and cannot even squat to parallel, will this drill help me reach depth after I do it enough?I would appreciate a reply.

If you want to squat to depth, then practice the squat with proper technique. No need for extra fluff

I want you to get a degree in science and start doing research. I really do believe that your analytical skills and creativity could pave the way towards more knowledge. You could explore and discover new things for us to apply to get stronger and better. I mean it. Your explorative mind can help humanity build new hypothesis that you could test. Enlighten us Omar.

I have seen a lot of your and others positions on strength standards. I would like to know the strength standards for someone like me. A person who uses dumbells only on bench? I sit at about 170lbs and can do the 100lb d.b. (as high as d.b. go in my gym) for 6-12, wich i consider heavy at most gyms. BUT, I would most likely struggle with more than 225 on a bench. I have benched in my training past 305 for reps though, before changing training style. So, I guess my question is would I have to consider myself weaker than I should be at this stage because of my bench? Or for that matter that I have made losses?? No one ever talks about this and I have no idea why. I am personaly much more impressed by a guy sittin at 185lbs throwin around 125lb d.b. on any angle of bench, than a 300lb bar bell bench. Whould love to hear what people think on this topic.

Hey Omar, I have a hard time with my walkout for my squat. When I get to 405 it feels so heavy and is super hard to walk out but I can hit it no problem. I see other people walking out with multiple plates with ease and wonder why I struggle so much and am so shaky. I feel it is holding me back. What could I do to fix this?

But Omar,
Will improving my ankle flexion increase my calves gains?
Not saying you're not trustworthy, but you are lacking calves.
