See I’ve been confused about low bar squats for some time because I’ve been trying to do Mark Rippetoes version who says hip drive is important and I may be wrong, but I interpret that as a slight rise in the hips on the way up. I think this is probably a better way. I just gotta sort out butt wink also

Thank you Omar and Alastair! I applied the entire technique that was presented in this video, especially sitting the hips back first then the decent. Sitting the hips back first resolved my bar path and bouncing forward out of the hole problems. This video was extremely helpful.
He has a HUGE buttwink. Yes he's FAR stronger than I am but instead of breaking at the hips, isn't he hyperextending the spine? Dangerous with a lot of weight on the spine isn't it?

Alastair has flawless squat form. His instruction in this video is gold. I can't wait to go to the gym in less than 48 hours to squat without lower back pain. I imitated the way he squats in my bedroom with a 20lb weight bar and my lower back feels much more protected and powerful.

I'm 6'3" with a very long torso. Switched from high bar to low bar. High bar puts way too much strain on my back. I just started squating about 2 months ago. Low bar feels way more natural for me.
