I'd recommend going past 90 degrees that more of a hip flexor emphasis although you are engaging your abs.
I should have watched this before advanced PLEASE ANSWER!! My hip has been popping on the right side for months now what can I do??

Scott, you are supposed to lift your legs up to your chest. This way you are training your hips.
these are called 1/2 hanging left lifts.
proper leg lifts should be performed hanging from stall bars and should end with touching your toes to the bar.

Is this version just as effective as the other? My core is burned out after squats and all that so its hard to do the 2nd variation after workouts.

Poping in the bones are normal at first? I was a bit surprised each time i do a rep i have some bones poping
What scott didnt didn't tell you, is you want to be focused on activating your core to do the raise, not your legs, it is an ab workout after all.

I was at first intimated by this machine. But I tried it after watching this video and I could do it!! This helps my back over doing leg lifts on the floor. I just always have to check with Scott first for proper form! Thanks for always having what I need!
