Is this advice only for guys because I'm a girl and I play sports but for some reason I cannot gain muscle. I can't even do a pushup and I've been playing varsity for over 3 years now. I'm not trying to get really bulky but I want to get some sort of muscle definition in my arms. I'm not fat, I think my body fat percentage is around 18% which is average for female athletes. So, is there any advice you would give?

Right now I've been cutting for 2-3 weeks, started doing some cardio, to improve my general health.
My weight has kind of stalled so I think I'll start a lean bulk.
Been eating at 2000, trying 2300, even though theoretically my tdee should be around 2700, but I guess my body got used to lower calories, gotta jump start it again

Im eating 2700 calories per day. i eat 177 grams of protein. 318 grams of carbs. 80 grams of fat. im trying to gain muscle. my body fat percentage is around 14 percent. this is my first week and i gained about 2 pounds. i been getting a bigger belly. Should i reduce on my calories or do more cardio?
with the lean mass phase we should be eating 300-500 calories above maintence, but let's say you burn 150 during a workout, should you add that to your maintence?
at a calories surplus of 250, how much should we gain a month?
