Omar I'm 50 and never done a pull up in my life yet my back is wider and thicker than yours and more muscular, oh that's right, I snatch and have done so for thirty years.

Yo Omar, i've been really struggling with pull ups. They seem to be my weakest link. When i film myself just doing drop downs, my legs are straight and forward, but my back is totally over arched. I'm talking arched like a power lifter on the bench. Its like I'm rowing up to the bar if that makes sense. I try focussing on tensing my abs and straightening my torso, but i feel as though this pulls my shoulders forward out of position and i start feeling weaknesses in my shoulders.
If ya have any ideas, it would be awesome.

I've been doing this every week at the start of my back day with the goal of increasing reps until they reach 8, then increasing weight. For hypertrophy, is this efficient?

omar, if you for volume, you should train your gripstrength, thatll make you progress fast. there are a lot of challenging variations for that, towel pull ups etc. check up the wrestlers pull up, nobody knows it, but its a true killer.

When I can do pull ups again, I'll get right on that.
Most common problem I see, specially among skinny weak dudes, is using mainly biceps. I was that kind, and I must say resistances bands have helped me feel the back.
I feel like some times my limiting factor is my grip, my hands get calluses and give out before anything.

thanks for the video Omar. I have trouble with my wrist while doing pullups…I have to stop because my wrist hurts and i fear to fall down because of it. IS there anything I can do?
WTF?! I'm training pull ups for 2 months now and I still can't do the fucking correct form!!! I'm so triggered!! When I do my shoulders down in the beginning they always go up if I'm also going up, not mather how hard I try to do them down again…
Thank you so much man, ive been working out for a while and my back just never seemed to be getting the gains i thought it deserved for how much i was training it, and ive always bee stuck on perfecting the form, lots of videos just say "raise your scapula and pull up" but this video really went into depth on the proper form, and I just went outside to test it and I can already feel it in my back a lot more. :)))

Dude thats amazing.Exactly the information i needed. One problem i got- In my first couple reps i do them correctly but i train them to failure and the final reps i round my shoulders like the incorrect pic you showed. I start from a dead hang but final reps i barely get my chin over the bar and round my shoulder. And mostly feel the pull ups in my arm not my back. Solution? Thanks.

If you want a bigger back slow down on pull-ups to get time under tension which makes muscles grow

SOMEONE HELP: About 4 years ago I was doing a large amount of pullups. Suddently my back spazed out and I havent been able to do a pullup since, and my back is in constant pain. It hurts while breathing, moving, throwing, and more. I have been to doctors and choiropractoers. Nothing helps.
