hey Omar, is there ever a time anterior pelvic tilt is ok? Like in the bench press or deadlift?

Reply
dubson965 November 20, 2013 - 4:46 pm

i arch when i bench but i dont want to arch too much i do feel strain on my lower back when i max out sometimes. i didnt know i was making this mistake with squat until you made this video, thanks a lot. is it ever a concern elsewhere? like other lifts? bench, deadlift. thanks omar.

A video on how to breath? Really?

Reply
NeffBear November 21, 2013 - 3:11 am

Great Info. I had chior, band, etc growing up and I find it very hard to breathe with my chest. If I dont breathe with my diaphragm, in thru the nose, out the mouth, deep and controlled, I feel like Death. I No Like- plus, with MMA or, really, any combat sport, if you breathe with your chest you give away A Lot besides fucking your cardio all to hell

I don't know if I breathed right today when deadlifting, but I took deep breaths before pulling and it seemed to help. Last week I had to quit cause tailbone or lumbar got hurt on a rep. Breathing through stomach still a bit confusing to me.

My eyes seem to close and sometimes I think I grunt on some of the reps when deadlifting and people at the gym are prob like wtf? But I can't seem to help this. Better breath and make a little noise than get inured I suppose…..(not breathing much)

yo omar I feel like I can breathe well enough when sitting down but when I go to do a squat or something, taking that deep breath into my stomach feels significantly harder. Any advice?

can this be applied to benching and if so how though the whole movement?

You should always and all time be breathing like this.  Anything else is not only detrimental to your lifting, but your entire life.  Good video.

i used your "deep 360 breath"  today and the deadlifts were easyier and i didnt feel anything in my back , unless my muscles . but iam still not sure if i "lock it " correctly , do you hold your breath or do you continue to breath when locked ?

When you say "expand your core" that means pushing out right? Cus sometimes you talk about "sucking in" the stomach too. But that's only on isolation movements or what? I'm really confused.
