Hey Scott any chance we can see your take on free weight triceps extension variations (skull crushers and lateral triceps extensions) and the pros and cons machine vs free weight vs pulldown machine (overhand vs underhand)? I always skip this machine and just do overhand pulldown (1 exercise, used to just rely on swimming for tris but now I don't do it as much so I could use some help). I think I'm doing something wrong because my shoulder hurts during the skull crushers. Could need a break..

how many reps should I do for my legs.. 20 or 12 (with more weight) ??
@ypenburger Generally recommended that you do lower reps with additional weight to gain size and strength. Therefore, I'd say 12 with more weight would be more productive (Y)

Thank you for these things to keep in mind and I will, on Thursday, try to make certain I'm more specific with this machine. Question – have you had the experience of, or know of someone who has had, (I can only imagine being tendinitis) clicking and consequentially painful elbows? Is there a way to modify/sit with this machine to prevent this?
That gym reminds me of a doctors office.
I wish manufacturers would not have pads extending under the elbow joint. Friction over the joint can damage the sheath there. I have had to modify Nautilus biceps and triceps machines to avoid contact of elbows with pads. Also, the seated position for doing triceps extensions isn't the strongest. A lying position that puts the elbows closer to the head is superior as the triceps get into a stretched position.
