I disagree with equal quality on breads and such but other than that yeah your right, I go for store brand a lot now when on a budget. Honestly I can afford to get everything I like, but then I can really build up a savings, so I tighten up my food shopping when I want to try and build my account up a little, otherwise I could spend 600 bucks a month on food, I hate when I do that.

How is nuts cheaper than biscuits? Almonds is £4 n basic biscuit is 40p. I’m not in a budget I spend £260 per month on a healthy high protein diet. It’s me n hubby plus I’m preg I won’t jeopardise nutrients for the baby. I spent £30 on omega oil🤰🏻

I don't like frozen vegetables, unfortunately. Maybe in certain recipes they are okay.

Always wash organic, too. They use pesticides that aren't great for you.

Check at local fruit and vegetable store…get to know the family run businesses local to you. Ask the owner about buying a box of seasonal stuff on the cheap. Ask them if they can help you save money by including items such as the outside leaves from lettuce, bruised fruit etc. Learn to home dry to preserve what you have. Grow herbs as indoor greenery.

Tea is a great replacement for soda. Fruit tea, herbal tea, regular tea. Many brands will post out samples of new flavors for free. Homemade vegetable and bone broth is also a great flavourful "drink".

If you know other friends on low budgets…talk about buying pantry stables in "bulk" together. From multi packs of toothbrushes to rice.

If you are in college and living in a dorm. I recommend buying chicken breast, kale or broccoli, beans, and rice. Then buy a rice cooker with a steamer. (These are like $25) then you can cook a complete meal in your dorm. Steam the vegetables, chicken, and beans over the rice and it only takes like 30 mins.
