It seems the thing with 212 guys successfully going to the Open is coming into these shows completely peeled. Heck, I personally foresee Da Bull making the transition in 1-3 years. I’ve never seen anyone in a modern show look so much bigger than their listed stage weight than George did at the O in 2018 & 2019. Plus, he already comes in bone dry, and has great muscularity through the back to complement the striations. Rhoden’s win in 2018 aside, you gotta have a great back to win a big title. I think we see George win the Men’s Open Bodybuilding Olympia in the next 5 years.
Here's something some may not consider: Phil Heath has the craziest brachioradialis genetics of all time. Makes his forearms insanely massive & gives him a visual edge; this was instrumental in him beating a prime Kai; Kai did not have this gift. Similarly, Flex also has massive forearms bc of this; also both Heath & Flex have extremely short bicep & tricep tendons that insert all the way down into the elbow. Hadi has far smaller forearms & higher tendons on bi/tri, limiting his growth potential & affecting the visual look of the entire package. Hadi's made insane improvement since '17, but in this head to head thumbnail, look at the left arm of each (facing us, so it looks like their right arm). Hadi's looks very, very small compared to Flex's; this is mostly due to brachialis & brachioradialis. Looks like an amateur (albeit high level) vs an Olympian. This visual impact is part of why Hadi lost, besides not having the back dialed in like Flex. Everything Matters!
I think since the 2017 Asian Grand Prix , Hadi has significantly controlled his midsection even when relaxed or in transition, if you see clips of Vancouver pro or Olympia 2019 .
I personally think Hadi won that Asia show, he came in the most on point in my opinion.
