You can't take anything away from Zane but Arnold is King !

For the sport of bodybuilding and the requirements of bodybuilding during the time, Arnold. When it comes to the overall look and which physique looks better in general, Frank Zane. Arnold mastered the criteria for bodybuilding. Everything in his physique fit perfectly. As good as Frank was, his legs were ripped but they were smaller and they made his upper body look bigger instead of complementing it like Arnold's legs did for his upper body. Frank's lat spread was also weak and so was his side chest. Those 2 poses were dominated by Arnold. Even so, Franks physique was more pleasing to look at compared to Arnold's. Those lines are unrivaled.
Arnold was a shell of his former self by 1980… everything had evolved in those five years… there was more competition… bodybuilders prep was longer… and conditioning was better due improvement and better knowledge of drugs.. Arnold was training for his role in Conan the Barbarian his body was not balanced — his quads — were terrible…Zane was not in top form .. but he or Mike Mentzer could have been tops… Boyer Coe was a good bodybuilder but he never had more than a two pack for abs…. I think Robby Robinson “The Black Prince” never really got a fair shake with the Weiders and the Olympia was our after dropping down in ranking in 1979 after placing second to Zane in 1977 and 1978.. as always the politics of bodybuilding was always treacherous and often racial in the 1960s and 1970s…

I asked Frank Zane yesterday about if he ever trained according to the classic Greek "the golden rule" standards based on body part ratios, he replied that he never ever measured himself, but instead he always used before and after photos to judge where he needed to be.
