Is there anything I can use to replace the physioball?

When do you use this? Before or after a warming up?

I was watching a video of steve nash doing some balance drills.  What he was doing was WAY more advanced than this though

I have knee issues and funny when I went to PT this was exactly most of the exercises I had to do!  Humph!

Surprisingly challenging workout – thanks!  I found the side to side nodding exercise all but impossible – any tips for a slightly easier/simpler version so I can build up to the full exercise?

everything is just ballet. I should just practice a full ballet class. I used to have a brad pitt body when I danced.

I workout 4 times a weak and I just started with some flexibility exercises after my workout. Is training your balance as well something for after your workout?

Very good, just found some of the excercises a little too difficult for a beginner.

This looks like a pretty well-designed workout, similar to much of what I already to but with some new twists (no pun intended).  I do a lot of trail running for an aging runner to avoid the pounding of cement and I find that running on rough trails also helps my balance and strengthens what I call my 'accessory muscles' to my main driving force muscles for running.  I have one ankle that I am really strengthening in this way–this workout really make's one feel all those tiny 'balance muscles' in the lower leg/foot/ankle chain thus hopefully allowing me to run for another 4-5 years.  Great workout for everyone, especially for those over 50 who need to start thinking about balance.

I'm 83 and have been looking for exercise to strengthen my balance. At last, I've found it. Your routine is PERFECT for what I need to regain what I've been slowly losing. The last movement I do on a rebounder, though. It minimizes jarring.

I usually workout 6 days a week. I didn't realize how bad my balance was until I did this video 😀 THANK YOU!!!

Don't be blended by the title. This isn't for beginners. Starting with that I don't have space in my apartment or gym to swing my leg around without hitting some furniture or wall or equipment. And after failing the second exercise I was back on the sofa in no time.

I still need improvement in some excercises than others 😞

My favourite beginner instruction: keep your ankle at hip height at all times.

You can't even keep your balance through the video! How do you expect a beginner to do it? Try again!!!

Too many people do not think about balance workout. Is the foundation for every other exercise. Thanks for the video.

These do not really seem like beginner balance exercises to me. I need to gently hold onto something for balance.

Constanza July 6, 2020 - 12:06 pm

Don't let the word "beginner" fool you, this can be really difficult if you make it. Fantastic workout, really humbling.

The very first one seems beyond beginner

Are there “pre-beginner” exercises to bridge up to these? If I can barely stay up on my left foot just standing still, how can I ever get to moving right leg around on it?

I consider myself to be stronger, fitter and more flexible then most people my age (thank you Kelly and Daniel), but this kicked my @ss! I'm gonna do this a lot, no idea I had practically no balance! I'm surprised I can walk! 🙂

SangheiliWarrior November 16, 2020 - 6:35 pm

I didn't do any that included the ball since I don't have one. Also if there is some that you can't do yet, than just skip and work on the easier ones and eventually you'll get there
