Ep 1: MOVEMENT | Joe Wicks: ‘The Year That Changed Me’ – The Body Coach TV

by YouTube Team

This is the first episode of my new documentary series with lululemon ‘The Year That Changed Me’.

I want to share with you how the last year has reshaped the way I approach my own mental and physical health and most importantly – what I’ve learnt. Hopefully it might help to inspire you to make the same positive changes in your life.

In this episode I’m talking about movement and why not all exercise has to be about high intensity, explosive movements. All movement is good and all movement has the power to change the way we feel.

To accompany this episode I’ve put together a 10 minute feel-good workout to get you moving and feeling energised –

In 2021 I became a global ambassador for lululemon.

I could not agree more. A walk in nature, whether it be a National park or a playing field is a great stress reliever.

This is what we need to see more of. Seeing fitness as mental and keeping us all sane not to just look a certain way. Through lockdown I went through same thing and thanks to u, u really helped !!!!

Lovely to hear you finding joy in nature as well as the other stuff Joe. Try goin up a hill… one of my faves. If you ever get tae Glencoe again try the Lost Valley I’m sure it will blow you away with its beauty. You have inspired so many throughout the pandemic and will no doubt continue to. I was with you every day of the workouts and now have the app so I’m continually being encouraged by your work. Thank you. I’ll be be praying on for you 👍🏻

Yes, Joe! I'm glad you have learnt to enjoy walking. I have had to walk recently due to injury and although the endorphin release is not the same, there are so many benefits to it. I live in the countryside and connecting with nature and calm, makes all the difference. Don't knock it til you've tried it, is what I say. Running will be back in my life very soon. Lots of love 💘.

This pretty much sums up the mood at the moment. I think most people will appreciate the outdoors a lot more after the last year.

Your PE lessons got us through that first lock down in this house and kept us happy and were looking forward to the next workout! So thank you very much. Good to see you’re finding different ways to look after yourself!

May I just say how incredible you are. Thanks to you, with P.E. With Joe, I was accepted into a school program in which only 10 out of around 150 get in. Doing your workouts really changed my world. There’s no words to describe how thankful I am. You are THE BEST. 🙂

Fantastic. Sometimes just slowing down, noticing nature, not forcing but enjoying and taking this in, can promote.healing and internal peace.l I like the way this is going… Realising both physical and mental aspects are so valuable.

Wish the British countryside outside of Birmingham was this clean! Headed out today on the bike, gorgeous weather, such potential for relieving stress, but many parts blighted by litter and fly tipping. So sad.

I'm 56 and my son 6. We both got fit doing Joe Wicks PE 2 or 3 times per week during lock down. The whole family went for daily walks round the park as well and I did the odd jog. All for free. Big thanks to Joe Wicks and his family.

Oh i felt this to my core….the park 10 mins from my home literally kept me sane these past 18 months. The absolute disconnect from social media and just breathing fresh air, being outside was food for my soul 🙂

I love that you ended this piece with the sentence that I first heard when I started training with your videos and resonated off the charts with me: YOU WILL NEVER REGRET A WORKOUT. My entire family has caught on and I often hear them saying it when they're procrastinating a workout. Thanks Joe for the vids. Keep 'em coming!

I use to walk miles daily with my dog. When he passed away I lost myself. I stopped exercising and fell into depression (I was also 5mths pregnant at the time). When my son was born I had PND and started piling on weight as wasn’t exercising at all. I hated myself and it only got worse when lockdown happened. Then PE with joe came out and I thought ‘right this is it’ and I have been working out since. I now team 40-1hour HIIT and pilate sessions 5 days a week, with a daily hour walk either to the park or dropping my son off at nursery and I’ve found myself again. I’m off antidepressants, lost weight and feel so much better mentally (I was having suicidal thoughts before so I was in a bad way). I’m not saying exercise cures depression, but it does help and I wish it was something they offered as a complimentary treatment when mentally ill and it is powerful in changing your way of thinking.

It get confusing with all the different things an I’m uncertain able what exercises to do until I’m completely healed. Can you help?

Walking has got to be one of the best forms of exercise just because of how easy and peaceful it is. Better for the mind

had anxiety and depression years ago and the main thing that helped was just walking in nature. flat feet was also causing lots of issues and blocked energy in my body, plus breathing issues. I never liked hitt workouts but I actually enjoy yours and now i incorporate it into my routine, Thanks for all your awesome content from Australia.

We are Nature, we need to connect with nature outside regularly to clear out old energy and take in new, fresh energy. Everyone is unique and has their own favourite spot where they feel good. Go there, give thanks to that place, go home and be a better you.
