I don't think Dorian could beat Lee in 1992. This 1991 showed the superiority of Lee over him in chest, biceps, legs, back and BICEPSSS. In the end, common people don't recognize Dorian as one of the greatest but avid Mr. Olympia fans knows that one of the most controversial Mr. O is Dorian. – Truth
I'm a huge Dorian fan but I have to agree with many of the comments here, Haney looks as big, if not bigger than Dorian, especially chest and delts… I know the mass monster years came later but with regards to this video it's Haney all day.
Dorian is the most overrated bodybuilder of all time.

I dont really agre that dorian was bigger than haney in these pics, and haney had even a bigger back in the rear lat spread..the only part that dorian was bigger than haney in is the legs, he may have had a more grainy look and sharper conditioning than haney but in no means he dwarfed him or outsized haney..not that year in these pics..
Haney is so underrsted as a olympia champion bodybuilder..
Its almost like people talk about arnold and his reign then skips right ahead to dorian and talk about his reign as a mr Olympia champ, he does not get enough of respect among bodybuilding fans..
Im even guilty of that to,almost forgetting about Lee when im thinking of or talking about the mr Olympia "greats"

True.. he could have held his title for 1992, but that was subject to Lee being able to improve himself over Dorian and also what the judges would have had in their minds during the show. He played safe, but wouldn't regret his decision.

Whoever's side you fall on, using language that one was "far" superior, or "killed" or schooled the other is just nonsense.
Yes you might think Lee was better than Dorian or vice versa and that's fine, but to use some of the words or terms above is such an exaggeration.

Lee had already made his mark. He was probably tired and knew the limits of his body. 8 was and still is enough.
He knew he couldn't play that size game? They're the same damn size. If anything Haney was bigger in 91. Add to that Dorian came in lighter in 1992…Haney would have won 9. It's a nonsensical viewpoint. Had he retired in 93 you could make that argument. However, he retired two years prior. Your notion is that a 5'11", 252lb Lee haney in 1991 was afraid of a 5'11", 248lb Dorian Yates overwhelming size??? Throw the whole video away 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Lee did not retire because he was afraid of Dorian Yates sir. He accomplished what he needed to accomplish/achieve and decided to move on. He promised he was going to beat Arnold's record and he did it. Now, speculating whether he retired because Dorian intimidated him is undermining Lee Haney and his legacy… one should be more considerate when criticizing people that have done things that YOU could never be, accomplish, and achieve.

In 1991 .. Hell yeah Lee Haney was bigger and better that Dorian I agree 💯 % the only thing Dorian outsized Lee Haney in 1991 was just the front lat Spread pose which I got Dorian winning and his legs upto a certain point….. But overall in 91 Lee haney was the first winner Hands Down!
But in 1992 Dorian would have easily beaten Lee if Lee haney had competed.. But who knows if Lee Haney would have step up his game in terms of size in 92 because of Dorian

Lee Haney beat him in every pose and was a lot bigger. I think Lee Haney would have won another year or two. Plus Haney was so young if he wanted to put size on he could have added more. Haney did get bigger for this Olympia, so imagine if he had someone that he had to get bigger for. Too bad he already won 8 times at this point. Nothing much to motivate him since he broke Arnold’s record. Arnold was the standard of bodybuilding and Dorian was just some new guy. He didn’t retire because he was scared of some guy who never won an Olympia lol. That’s silly.

DY was a great BB but he lacked seperation in his muscles. Lee Haney is the clear winner and I am positive Haney would've beat him in 92. Lee had already made history and went out on a high.

Lee could easily play the size game with Dorian, what people don't realize is Lee competed at 245-250, with a tiny vacuum gut. Lee could easily put on 15 pounds and Dorian trying to beat Lee at 260-265, forget about it!,. Your right this was the beginning of something new and something today we regret. Dorian wrecked bodybuilding aesthetics.

Haney was smart and knew that 1991 was the last year he could expect to beat Dorian. He knew Yates was still growing and that this was a miniature version of the man who would eventually be called 'The beast with two backs'.
