Influencers have now become the new beauty standard.
But what exactly is the new beauty standard? Well, I decided to find out for myself. I made a list of the Top 100 female Instagram stars purely based on following. Then I came up with 22 attributes that each woman would be judged on. These included things like:
Hair color
Hair length
Neck length
Face shape
Body shape
Eye color
Clothing size
Flatness of stomach
Lip size
Eye size
Nose size
Skin color
Chest size
Prominence of butt
Age
Height…etc
After a couple weeks of gathering data and categorizing data, I can tell you that there is most definitely a formula and a specific beauty standard that the 100 most followed women on Instagram adhere to.

I was honestly waiting to see any example of a woman with either a large or downturned nose mentioned. That's the thing I notice about instagram the most. Noses are tiny, surgically altered, or both if you're considered beautiful these days.

Its scary bc when im thinking of myself in my head i imagine myself having brown eyes, jawline, small nose, hourglass figure with flat stomach and having big lips. But when i look in tbe mirror thats not who i see so i get disappointed

I think that these results are representative of the population, white women make up a large percent of the population and has been the image that has been portrayed as the ideal woman in history and it has not changed. Majorities have the most influence on policies, laws, and opportunity. There is a shift coming though, I can't wait until everyone is celebrated for their natural beauty and there's an equal population!

I dunno who follows the top 100 but i have rarely heard of them. I am assuming the plus size community follows the plus size community like i follow black fitness influencers with my body type.

I think the next trend will be natural. Less surgery. I think younger generations, starting with those that are currently in elementary school will be disgusted with the trends of today. They will embrace individuality and reject the kardashian clones. I also think androgyny will continue to grow in popularity. I really hope flat chested girls With small butte make a come back.

We are all beautiful and unique the way we are.
The (not surprising) Fact is beauty standards dictated by the industry don't matter when it comes to who gives you the hots. Media can harp about body positivity all they want, but the lizard brain wants what it wants. Both for males and females. So anyone proposing to "modernize" what we find attractive, is actually trying to appease a certain base or simply trying to sell a product.

This research is really interesting! Although I don't really agree with the skin color analysis. It's the only attribute for which she didn't show pictures and/or give precise data. Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Zendaya, Cardi B, Priyanka Chopra, Nicki Minaj, etc. They're not caucasian at all! I think it's wrong that she's pushing the agenda that white people are THE beauty standard, because with all the photos she's used in her video, we could see a wide range of diversity in terms of skin color!

Those women don't look like that in real life and even if they do why is that the standard??? It should not be thats what immature MEN prefer so the hell with all that stuff! I prefer natural beauties and women who have brains and a backbone not these clown faced zero backbone women! Looks fade! At 60 year old these women will be miserable lion faced children 🙄 !
