That place where you saw all of the designer shops and super cars looks very similar to the place where Top Gear shot their Budget Supercars episode a year to two ago.
If you're not actually tied down to a job at home and you do most of the work online then you could try moving there long term. I'm weighing up teaching in the south of Spain, and I have a friend who teaches in Seville 9 months of the year and then comes back to Ireland for the summer. Let where you want to live dictate where you will work, and not let work dictate where you have to live.
