Foods are water too.
Deduct macros from weight to see. Even nuts and dried foods are >10% water!

I always knew the water one was rubbish. In the UK I remember suddenly everyone was recommending you should drink 2l of water a day so I tried it for a few days, felt bloated, sick and uncomfortable. 20 years later and people are finally realising it all came from someone badly interpreting a paper.

natasha you have actually no clue how much your videos impact me. i’ve been recovering from a raging ED for a little while now, & it’s SO hard to when it feels like everyone is throwing opposite health advice left & right. track your calories, eat intuitively, exercise, don’t exercise, give into craving, don’t, & then every other “health habit” you named off. you have no clue how it feels to come on your page & have a breath of fresh air. someone who does not intend to sell me some “life saving supplement” or “hourglass figure in two weeks” you’re real. you’re honest. you’re so raw & loving & i thank you. i truly cherish you as well as your content. you have made me love health & fitness just as it is, not to morph myself into someone i’m not. much love , madi💓💓💓💓

Comment regarding journaling. Personally I had journaled throughout my entire life and it definitely matters WHAT one journals about. I had stages where I was angry journaling and I found that detrimental to my mental health. It put me in a perpetual victim mentality and like you, Natacha, I was losing perspective on a larger picture. After doing the science of happiness course curated online by Stanford university, I discovered the gratitude journaling. That did the opposite, it put me in a very positive mindset. These days I find the most effective way to journal for me is a combination of problem solving (aka writing out my problems and finding solutions to them by asking constructive and objective questions) and expressing gratitude. I can still be angry/sad/anxious yet I can write down some solutions to these feelings and appreciate what I already have going for me.

There's 5 times more vitamin C in the lemon peel, white part and seeds than in the juice itself. Plus some potassium, calcium and fiber. I buy organic unwaxed and blend the whole lemon (with some ginger). 🙂

Love your balanced look at these things. I'd like to put out there that spironolactone was initially developed to help lower blood pressure in heart attack victims. It just had a bonus side-effect of reducing hormonal acne in women (I believe it lowers testosterone levels). Just be aware of that if you decide you want to take it. It's prescription based, anyway, so you'll have to discuss with a doctor. I used it for a while and it definitely did clear up my acne. However, I'm someone who has naturally low blood pressure as it is, and after a few months of use, I went off of it because I found it was making my blood pressure dip way too low. Chronic low blood pressure can have serious health implications. I didn't want to risk organ failure just for clear skin on my face. I'm sure it's perfectly safe for people whose blood pressure is usually in normal ranges, though.

I aim for 10k steps a day now that I have to walk to and from the station, plus work is busy so I'm on my feet a lot. I usually hit it most days, or over shoot it but not from trying! There's usually less walking on weekends because I'm knackered and I just want to become one with my chair lol. Also in terms of the drinking X amount of water each day, in my nutrition book there is a simple calculation which shows you approx how much water to aim for, which is body weight (kg) x 0.033 and that is it!

Love this! I also think the multi-step skincare routines with 20 different products are overrated. The skincare industry is big money and often exploits insecurities with products that don't have proven results.

I wonder whether anyone could help me here. I'm trying to get a little leaner and stronger (i have a martial arts competition coming up) but I dont have a very good history with calorie counting or restriction which is what is recommended by many. I just know that if I try those approaches I'll get obsessive about the numbers. Does anyone have any advice about competition prep without using restrictive methods? Would greatly appreciate any advice! 🙂 x

That makes me so angry that YouTube will demonetize you for talking about women’s health issues that don’t even have anything to do with sex. Like these things need to be talked about so young women who don’t receive proper education at home or school know not to do things like douche and also how to properly take care of themselves and their vaginal health/hygiene. It sucks we live in such a misogynistic society that huge companies like YouTube are basically discouraging women from speaking about and educating other women on feminine hygiene issues. It’s so gross and ugly. Thank you for making this video and still sharing on those topics despite being shamed for it basically. I love you video and content and think you seem like such a positive, happy, and kind person❤

Well, lemon juice is actually acting alkalic in our stomachs (it reacts with HCl and in this reaction it is actually behaving like a base and neutralizes the acidity of our tummy) so drinking lemon water might help you with heartburn or when your stomach hurts from too much alcohol. Generally when the stomach it is too acidic(baking soda helps in the same way too).

Just a fun fact, it usually cures me from my hangover 😄

Great video Natasha! So good to have someone online presenting the science behind things to the wider public! On lemon water – I feel like this might be something for people to avoid doing, particularly every day. I've seen things saying that over time, having that amount of citric acid will erode enamel and have negative effects on dental health. Haven't looked for any papers on this yet but if people are doing it for vitamin C there are other ways! Or drink through a straw I guess 😊
