2000 cal diet is easy to follow on cutting… but why people follow extreme calorie deficit like less 1500cal? it's really hard…

Should you add on additional calories based on how much you burn in the gym?
For example my calorie requirements for a cut are around 1800 cals but I burn 200-300 cals at the gym
Should I consume the calories I burn?

Hey there Rob. Do you still stand by what you say here? Do you still use these examples as a base in your programs?
The only reason I ask is because I have been led to believe that during a cut you want to keep your protein far higher so that you don't burn muscle and in turn just burn fat.
I'm 5ft 7" and currently weigh 187lbs and my macros are the following (currently also cutting)

Protein – 220g
Carbs – 250g
Fat 64g

So should I bring my Protein down to say 190 ?

Thanks Rob

Seeing this video I feel
the need to share this because I spent endless years jumping from diet
to diet without experiencing any real results until I discovered Dianas
magic plan (google it). Without doubt its the most weight loss that I
have ever achieved and it is still working to this day.

I know this is an old video but this is incredible! Helped me understand so well.

I am trying to lose weight to get to 80kg (currently 100kg). Would the 500 deficit method be best for me?

Hopefully somebody will assist me( Rob probably won't see it aha!)

Cheers

How many meals do you think you should have during the day. When I divide my P F C by 5 meals, each meals seems very small. I feel like I will get hungry in less than an hour.

Reply
Luke Corr July 20, 2017 - 9:33 pm

So I'm 185 pounds

Thats 185g of protein = 740 calories
0.4 x 185 pounds =74g=666 calories

Ok so here's where I'm confused. If 740+666=1406 calories then that leaves me with 1894 calories (3300 is my maintenance) so then if I divide 1894 by 4 (because 4 is the amount of calories in a gram of carbs) I get 473????? Like I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be consuming 473 grams of carbs a day for my maintenance. Somebody help me

Hey Rob, will I gain muscle if I eat my fats and protein at .4g per lb of bodyweight and 1g per lb of bodyweight perspectively but have lesser carbs than I should have?

There are various sites which show how to calculate your daily calories to maintain, increase, or decrease your weight. In my case, I am 180 lbs.and want to get to 160 lbs., so should I put my goal weight, (160 lbs.), and check the maintenance box in the calculations, in order to get my basal metabolic rate, (maintenance calories), and thus add or decrease calories based on whether I want to add muscle or burn fat? Thanks a lot for the great info.
