Phil aint beating Ronny and Lee now!
If the people pick a different winner than the judges pick, that competitor will be crowned the Mr. Olympia People's Champion. So….the judges still decide who gets the Sandow trophy and wins the Mr. Olympia title. Phil doesn't have anything to worry about.

Horrible move. The general public use their emotions towards a person as their decision. Phil Heath may be arrogant to some but his physique is all all-around phenomenal. Nothing wrong with a overly confident champ especially if he does contribute back to society.
This could be bad for Phil Heath, being that he can be such an unlikable asshole at times.

Bad idea too many people are going to vote for ramy just because it's ramy for example.
This is just a marketing / promotional strategy to hype up this years Olympia. After this years olympia IFBB will realize it was as stupid as 2004 Challenge round.
Just like in Presidential Elections popular vote / peoples choice vote does not matter, this is equivalent to that
Mr Olympia has officially lost all credibility if the majority of the decision isn't made by experts
People will be voting on what they want, not on what is deserved

99% of the world doesn't give a fuck about muscle bellies or striated glutes or posing. You have convince or train people to care about that stuff. They just like seeing a big or aesthetic mother fucker.

This may bring about issues that IFBB has been in denial of. The bubble gut. Presentation. Sloppyness, politics. They may for once see what the people want. After Lee Priest into Ronnie Coleman i kinda lost respect- not for any particular bodybuilder, but for the way professional bodybuilding has gone. There should not be a "modern" and "classic " look unless they can put some art back into it- it should be evidence of hard discipline. Not against the steroids- but balance it with the hard work. Ect.
Past several years the people all over the internet state what they want to see. It will be interesting if it is reflected by the people vs the judges

I don't agree with that decision.
This would give incentive to each competitor to be even more proactive in promoting themselves and indirectly/directly bodybuilding. Also, this encourages fans to be more involved and I think it will expand this industry. An interesting business decision.
