Bodyweight Workout Routine – NEVER THE SAME WORKOUT TWICE! – ATHLEAN-X™

by YouTube Team

More workouts you can do from home –

This bodyweight workout routine is not only challenging, but effective because it utilizes the principal of infinite variety. By using playing cards, this body weight workout literally changes every single time you do it. The order of the exercises, the number of reps that you do, and the overall effect of the workout on your muscles will be different every time you do it.

The other important factor about this killer bodyweight workout is that it provides a heart pounding cardio / conditioning effect while being careful not to tip the scales into muscle catabolism (as many cardio workout options do). The inclusion of bodyweight exercises that actually stimulate muscle at the same time, allows you to shift the traditional cardio workout into one that is capable of producing muscle growth at the same time as fat loss.

This simultaneous muscle building and fat burning effect is what makes ATHLEAN Burst Training (our answer to traditional cardiovascular workouts) so popular and effective. The system relies on the selection of the right bodyweight exercises and the right sequencing of those exercises into viable bodyweight workouts.

If you haven’t already tried to burn fat using these kind of workouts, then I recommend you head to and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. In 90 days you get over 60 unique workouts (many of them using just bodyweight, while even those that do use equipment use just the basics). It’s time to trade in slow boring cardio for the excitement of athlean-x bodyweight conditioning and start seeing how much faster you can burn fat without losing muscle.

I bet if Jeff saw a program he disliked, he would say something similar, and everyone would eat it up. I'm going against the wave here, THAT'S why I got downvoted.

I take training much more seriously so I spoke out against this with people like me in mind. It seems I've forgotten the majority of people on Jeff's channel are the Summer/Curl Bro crowd, or people who just want to be in average shape. If you want to be average, go ahead and do this program. I don't even care, I've unsubbed. Peace

Do this once a month to skip something different into your workout and I'm quite sure, you will be glad after doing the workout that day.

What an awesome idea to make your workout unpredictable. Ive always thought you get a better workout when someone tells you what to do instead of doing what you want, gets you out of your comfort zone

KidCoolio – I am not sure what your workouts look like but this was primarily intended for the "burst training" days on the Athlen-X program. These provide a very solid bodyweight burst training to meet cardio needs with some resistance (bodyweight). You gave a very inflamatory response without any specific concerns other than statements such as "pretty terrible cardio at that". Can you back up why this is, as you describe, pretty terrible cardio? I have not done this yet but it seems more than I could handle at this point, and even those that can do this will end up with an elevated heart rate while performing this. Heck even Jeff was breathing hard during the video and he is in great shape.

So I ask you for more specifics on why you think this is a bad workout to perform on cardio, or burst training days 2-3 times per week with strength training on the other day?

I use 50 cards at least once a week workingout chest, back, legs and abs. Each card is marked for which body part to work and the number of reps for that specific body part. You can either do it using bodyweight or moderate weights. It keeps me from getting bored of my workouts. If anybody likes this idea try the chino valley prison rep scheme.
