If you are an athlete, you know that they dont do too much isolation and they dont do Biceps and Triceps, because focusing on small muscle mess with your muscle memory, For example if you work your biceps more then when you hit your back, your body gives the message to pull the weight with just ur biceps because it has become your major muscle for pull instead of your back. That is why i put most of the exercises out of my life like Deadlift replaced with Snatch pull, Clean pull etc. Another example of my friend who was doing body building and he was a banker and he said to me that i am too lazy all the time, i want to get fit, even tho he was doing cardio as well but he was still lazy. Reason of he being lazy he was not activating his speed muscles at all, because in Hypertrophy you gain muscles at a cost of your explosive power and your nervous system becomes slow. He did weightlifting and Gymnastic ring exercises with me and now he feels energetic.
Good vid as usual Omar. I agree. Newbies should be doing enough cardio to warmup, a bunch of compound shit, then some cardio at the end and getting outta there.
First time using chalk today, big difference on bench press and rows, Can’t wait to try on deadlift! Dunno if it’s allowed at my gym, but fuck’em, it’s magical. #NoobGainz
Towards the end of the 6th minute in this video, Omar opened my eyes. It’s super rare by now for someone to “woke” me. He said you can maximize your motivation by looking forward to the shred when you’re cutting and looking forward to the strength gains on your bulk.
I'm currently in a ugly phase of being on the heavy side of a long bulk kept thinking I'll just cut now but deep down I know I need to look further in future then now and suck it up. This video reinforced this
How would you do compound movements as a beginner when you don't have the mind muscle awareness and cannot ontrol a lot of variables,,,that advice seems retarded imo
Hey guys i just did a new video about motivation, and why i think it is bullshit – would love if you watched the video and leaved a comment ! Would mean the world to me 🙂
Omar I’m gonna be that guy – I don’t think you should recommend a beginner is concerned with body image at all. I’m not saying it should be ignored, though the extent of unhealthy body image issues (especially as a reasons to be training) is growing and it’s a terrible thing to focus on at the beginning of training – I would argue it’s half the reason all these beginner mistakes happen because they want results quickly as opposed to learning how to train properly and for the right reasons.
Do you think it’s okay to do some isolation exercises as a beginner, as long as you are spending most of your time focusing on mastering the basic compound lifts?

Love this. Some solid principles: Food=fuel, Respect the bar, form>ego.
Health>>everything.
