if you find the apples fall apart on you, next time scores the skin around the middle to help let the air out. Another tip is to soak the dried fruit in orange juice to stop them burning in the oven

Not as simple as it looks. The corer leaves a plug in the apple that you must remove with a knife. I cored all the way through and then plugged up the bottom with 3 mini marshmallows. I substituted apricot brandy for the maple syrup and the orange juice, and added a little water to the bottom of the baking dish. Excellent recipe. Outstanding flavor.

Although the recipe is very tasty, she is really stretching the health benefits… You're better off eating a raw apple sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg if you're trying to be healthy. No, coconut oil is not good for weightloss and it certainly doesn't improve your metabolism… Maple syrup has trace nutrients which are basically insignificant. Orange juice is full of sugar and has no place in the fridge of anybody who's trying to eat healthy, dried cherries are not as good as fresh, hydrated cherries annnnnnnd I think that's everything.

Now having said that, if you're not on a weight loss diet and you want a fairly healthy dessert, this recipe is amazing as an occasional indulgence. And it's 100% vegan too.

And no, coconut oil is not "healthier" than butter.
