Thorsen wasn't Arnold's stunt double, but he did do stunts.
He was in total recall. He worked for the bad guy and was told to get Arnold. He said I got this guy some steroids. And helped Arnold
He was also in Captain Powers series, back in late 80s. Just random knowledge of him that I remember too 😉👍

Sven Ole-Thorson is awesome. Despite Conan the Barbarian, which is my favorite movie, and Gladiotor I really loved Thorson in the Viking Sagas. I also did a review about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LscGiVNrME.
Thanks for Making a vid about Sven, nice to see bodybuilders from my country being represented here. Another Danish bodybuilder worth making a video about would be Kim Kold, besides being one of the best bodybuilders out of Denmark, he also won an award for a role in a film made in Denmark, he also starred in Fast and Furious 6, in a smaller role.
Great tribute video. The life long friendship of Sven and Arnold goes back to the late 1970's when Sven was a judge in bodybuilding competitions. Sven would later move to Santa Monica and Arnold helped him find work in the movie business. He wrote his memoir (in danish) in 2007 called "Strong man in Hollywood"
Great pics from predator set. Is there something wrong with Arnolds pecs at this period? Had gyno operation or something? As I see, he had strangely small pecs here, loose skin and wrinkles.

Sven also did shotokan karate too in the 70s, there was an article in the terry O'Neils fighting arts international mag in the 90s. Rumour that he met Steven segal and being Steven tried to put a hand lock on Sven who sweeped his leg, knocking him to the ground.

Arnold looks small and lean in those Commando pics. Great little video. I saw this guy in lots of Arnold movies and figured he was a buddy but never knew he was also a stunt man and body builder.

Sven grew softer by the time of "Gladiator" but was an impressive looking opponent. He was a better choice I believe over Lou whom would have brought a higher recognizability factor, but therein lies the problem.
Don't forget Sven's most famous contribution: The battle cry of the boss from Golden Axe.
Why does arnold seem to not follow the right form ( as taught by various youtube trainers) of exercises? How was he able to gain muscle also injury free this way? For eg, he swings his elbow during bicep curl, does not bend his knees well , rounds his back during t bar rows?

More than that, Sven-Ole Thorsen (it's a hyphen between Sven and Ole, not Ole and Thorsen) was one of Arnold's best friends back then. I heard of this from an interview with Sven-Ole Thorsen by the a Danish film podcast duo. The interviewer is a huge Arnold fan and because of that, about half the interview is about his friendship with Arnold. It's 1½ hours long, but unfortunately, it's in Danish.

Sven-Ole tells many stories about how he and his friends pranked Arnold. One where they sent a fake love letter to Arnold posing as being from a girl he had a crush on. Another where they were drunk in a hotel room and Arnold couldn't take the alcohol as well so he went to another room to sleep. Sven-Ole and the other guys pranked Arnold by carrying the bed downstair into the lobby without waking up Arnold. Come morning, Arnold wakes up in the hotel lobby with guests and hotel staff staring at him being completely weirded out that Arnold Schwarzenegger is sleeping in the hotel lobby. Arnold sits up and screams "SVEEEEEEEEEN!" after Sven-Ole because he knew it was Sven-Ole's idea.
That's just two of the stories. It's filled with those. A great listen if you understand Danish.
