Facts: Arnold beat 26 competitors during his 7 titles and Phil beat 130 competitors during his 7 titles.

The five year gap of Arnold's bodybuilding career was due to him retiring and going for a Hollywood career. If he hadn't he would have had at least four more titles. And he didn't look like a balloon animal.

Arnold technically won 7 consecutive Mr.Olympias, he didn’t compete from 76-79, he dropped out of bb for Hollywood and after being away for 4 years he came back to win in 1980. To my point he was 6x Mr. Olympia left and came back for his 7th. The question is what would’ve happened had he never left for those years.
I always preferred Arnold because he looks more attractive but Phil is definitely more of a bodybuilder. Arnold came out in a time when bodybuilding was rising so there was less competition. When Phil was around, there was more competition. My biggest issue with Phil is I just wished he had smaller, slimmer waistline with flatter more defined abs. Then there are other issues, these bodybuilders put so much junk and hormones in their bodies which I feel was not that developed during Arnold's time which also caused a difference in look. Arnold has the look that, I believe most men want to look like but I feel Phil's body really shows the limit of body building (except for that belly.)
What happened to judging in bodybuilding? There is too much emphasis on size and not enough on aesthetics.
These new bodybuilders look like shit. They don't look good at all. It's impressive that they got that huge, but damn do they look gross.

Arnold faced less competition but far superior competition than Phil. A Ferrari vs a Ferrari is a much more competitive race than a Ferrari vs 500 Ford Fusion's.

Absolutely agree, Arnold had size and aesthetics where as Phil is blessed with full muscle bellies but you cannot over look the "Bubble-Belly"! I cannot see Phil doing anything close to what Arnold has for bodybuilding and even if he did come back to win more Sandow's, unfortunately he is not very well liked as opposed to where Arnold is the "Icon" in Bodybuilding!
I have to say if Arnold was to hsve otjwr people at the 1971 Mr O, he woulda won 99 percent chance I’d say, and it’s kinda unfair to say his wins were illegitimate Bc it’s not like he could say who can and can’t compete. He didn’t make the rules, and if we really think about it, you can’t say Arnold had an advantage of being a fan favorite bc even Frank Zane said it to that Arnold was destined for success and Arnold being a nice guy it prolly helped him a lot more since he’s a nice guy and was prolly nice to his fans who ran into him. Phil Heath not being liked by man is a whole other,story, today people will only like bodybuilders if they have what they deem as a good physique.
Video Idea: a video and say what if Arnold had way more competitors at each of his Olympia’s and, to make it realistic don’t use bodybuilders of today but ones who woulda been active during those years and compare them

Arnold with that body can only compet on todays physique classic or not even maybe just physique even tho he is great but for his time, the size and details cant be anywhere near 212 or open, so we should really compare him to someone like Raymont Edmonds or Chris Bumstead.
I'd give Heath credit for his achievements in bodybuilding.
He does have a great physique.
If he can take care of the bloated stomach (and he seems to have, to some extent) he can continue to be competitive.
That said, Arnold will always be known for putting bodybuilding on the mainstream map.
Phil will likely be forgotten by all but the most hardcore bodybuilding fans.
He certainly hasn't helped move bodybuilding more into the mainstream.
Forget "legitimate wins". I'll take Arnold's physique so I don't have a chest to waist ration of 1 or below. I also don't need paternity pants for my midsection.
If I had the choice to have any physique of all the Mr. Olympia’s, it would still be Arnold Schwarzenegger (1974) edition. His body will always rank to me as the most complete and aesthetically pleasing ever.

The truth is modern bodybuilding don't use esteriod but they are in a good condition
How many bodybuilders died back in Arnold's day? 0. How many bodybuilders have died in Phil's day? A bunch. Bodybulding back in Arnold's day represented a healthy lifestyle even thought they took steroids, it wasn't excessive. Bodybuilders today represent abuse of steroids and growth hormone. That's one reason why you don't see televised bodybuilding contests anymore. It's no longer appealing to the public because the men and women look like freaks.

Arnold in my opinion will always be better because he had a physique everyone would love to have but Phil and all the others have a physique thats just a mass monster including the gut thats good to look at but the majority wouldnt want to have.

Arnold, he was by far the best bodybuilder in the world during the first six wins. It would not have mattered if every pro bodybuilder in the world was on the stage against him, he was the best. Regardless of the games the Wieder's were playing, they had the best man on the stage for that era. You can guarantee that if the other pro bodybuilders felt they could beat him they would not have disqualified themselves by competing in those other events. It was pretty much an acknowledgment that he was going to win so why not make some money and win some recognition by winning another event?
