So as a beginner should I not worry about single joint movements? Or if I start them now will it lower my chances of injury?

Filming in front of a window can cause you to silhouette out and blow out the window, filter it out or film outside. Otherwise, great video!

You should make a video with riptoe (don't know to spell his name but the guy who wrote the starting strength book)

Persons who focus on strength training alone are some of the saddest people around. Why? They spend so much time in the gym  doing impressive numbers with the weights they're lifting and when you see them in public… they either look no different from a fat guy or a guy who don't lift at all. Look at Omar for example: aesthetically, the guy looks like shit. He looks normal; average. Cool though, but has the physique of someone paralyze from the neck down. If it wasn't for his personality, I would think that the only pussy he could get, is when it comes with four legs

Omar can you please make a video listing what single-joint exercises to do for Squats, Deadlift, Bench Press, OverHead Press & Barbell Row. I am following a 5×5 program, but I am getting to points where the weight is too much and already had to deload on squat and deadlift. I want to work on the muscles that are holding me back, which are: lower back, upper back, hamstrings, and shoulders.

Omar, I think a video on shoulder training frequency (OHP) would be good.  Things like how often should you do it and what should the programming look like would be great.

My arms are like 12.5" after a year of training them, it really pisses me off no matter what i do my arms, specifically triceps don't grow

I hate this recent trend of shitting on isolation exercises in the strength community. It's completely nonsensical and the biggest proponent of what i call 'rippetoesyndrome'

Eddy Alamo September 5, 2014 - 9:54 am

Aren't single joint movements what most power lifters call "accessory exercises"? Yes they are "functional".

Snore Lax September 6, 2014 - 8:29 am

Maybe a video on some single joint movements to assist the big three?

simply said , you are only as strong as your weakest link…isolating single movements in conjunction with compound movements will make you THE HULK …the stronger the biceps, the stronger the back !!!!!!!!!!!!

Great way to highlight a very important topic. I would also like to add, probably best to go 12-15 reps on these (single joint) and go slightly lighter as it is good for your central nervous system to experience that change up.
