i thought that the title meant that he deadlifted his body weight for five reps. I though ''sure i can do that no bother…" Then i figured it out and realised how wrong I was.

I googled him a month back because his name stuck with me all
These years due to his phenomenonal achievements.
Cool to see you give him props.
Some used to say his curvature gave him an advantage in dead lifts
Due to his shorter trunk…..but how would you explain his monster squat
And dead lift with such a diminutive stature.

The disease was obviously a crucial reason he could do this it actually helped him alot because it's so much easier to do half reps like he has to do with a back that short.

this is amazing but I think there's a relationship between personal height and dealift PR compaired to body weight the world record for deadlifting 500KG/1102lbs is by strongman Eddie Hall at 6'3" which considered not that tall for strongman although he did put alot of work separately because strongman have to train for certain events rather than for world record.

Eventually, evolution will grant us a guy that can lock out by pulling one inch off the ground.

I’m not trying to take away from his accomplishments but he was definitely on drugs if he set world records. There’s no way you can compete with the best powerlifters in the world if you’re not on juice

He's natty? Imagine if he used steroids and lift 6X his body weight

He doesn't have long arms, he has a very short torso. That's why they look long. He's 5'2.

That's exactly the way I felt (when seeing this phenom). Ppl suck, for not recognizing this amazing lifter (and man). 'Talk about overcoming… Lamar Gant deserves so much more than he obviously will ever get credit for. Great piece brother! Thank you.
